Thanks Pikey.

I'm really starting to hate SGIC/whatever it's gonna be called. It's just so... ugly with the alternating glass quality and stubbed glass facade.

Thats what I was thinking.

I fear its going to look like an ugly building with an ugly makeover. Pity it sits on such visible and valuable real estate. That block would make a great tower site.

I dont know what all this fuss over green glass is. If they were all the blue glass like Coglin, we'd all be whinging about not enough green glass then.

I dont mind the SGIC building, and the refurbishment looks 500% better

Tourists from other cities will be green with envy when they see Adelaide

The question is why choose green and be the same as City Central and the old MLC Building (Victoria Square)? There were other light coloured tints (grey, tobacco, etc.,) they could have chosen that matched the sandstone cladding, even double-glazed clear would have been OK (see VS1). Will they change the cladding at some later stage?

I simply think there's better colours for this building rather than more washed out green just for the sake of copying the buildings across the street. Blue wouldn't work on it either. I bet an amber, bronze, copper smoke or even a pink/salmon smoked glass hung in a cool way could've made the whole building look great.

Anyone seen the completed foyer section of the building? Looks really good on the inside :D The workers are currently finishing up the pavement section by the side of KWS. Unfortunately, it looks as though the windows on the other floors are staying put for the time being :( Anyone have any news on whats happening with that?

Back on page 10 of this forum i posted this info: http://www.sensational-adelaide.com/for ... 135#p39534. There's a stand-off between the tenants and the landlord. The tenants (mainly lawyers) want compensation for time (income) lost due to the need to temporarily relocate.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Yeah I did read your post. Do you know if there has been a resolution as yet?

No progress with several tenants. Owner/Landlord still refusing to pay compensation so Tenants aren't moving. Apparently the lease was poorly written which is constraining what action the Owner/Landlord can take. More news as it comes to hand...

Thanks for the update. Imagine arguing with a building full of lawyers about contract clauses. Might as well just jump off the roof.

Please Lord let them sort it out soon. If this one turns out OK-ish then the Hilton will be shamed into performing a facelift also.

Sigh. The building actually looks half decent with all the new glass but a half finished building is a big no no  Hopefully it gets sorted out sooner rather than later...
