Isn't the convention that if you're saying things like that, you need to include a picture of a cat?
If so, I think a Kitten Kong screengrab would probably be most appropriate

I think we need Kitten Kong stomping on the original proposal with a caption like "Dis iz Y U can't haz nize thingz"
Actually, when I've walked past the site, I find the way that the corner atrium/vacuum has been portrayed in the renders seems a bit misleading. The actual space that's beside the heritage frontage seems to me to be much narrower than they show. Especially with the beams that they're proposing to use looking so massive, I find it hard to believe that there's going to be much space left. If someone's feeling keen, it would be interesting to measure just how wide that is and make some estimations on what the render is showing us.

12 metres and the footpath needs cleaning.

If I had to take a guess I would say Charter Hall may be trying to secure a potential BHP office space requirement with this proposal.
This is pure speculation. However Charter Hall recently signed BHP for 12,000 square metres of office in their 171 Collins Street development in Melbourne. I think Charter Hall has also signed up BHP in the past for other office developments around Australia.
With the ODX project likely to move into a new phase soon and with a fair bit of hiring going on in their Adelaide office recently and with more job ads online I would say it will soon be time for BHP to improve its Adelaide accommodation. When this may actually occur is anyone's guess but an increased presence in Adelaide is surely on the cards.

or, as what usually happens, they will ignore Adelaide all together and just put all their workers into Perth and Melbourne

This project will come before the ACC DAP this coming Monday, where it is expected to receive planning APPROVAL. However, as it is worth more than $10 million, final say will be with the state government DAC.
On a side note, the proposal will be 98m tall.

I'd rather this see the light of day rather than the HS development.

Not bad, although much prefer the original design. Shame its not a few metres higher, but at least it will add to the density.

I quite like it.
If the facade ends up being of high quality and has a good reflective quality (unlike CC1) I think it will add to the skyline nicely.
But, yes, the first design was definately better.

damn why cant they have a couple of floors with extra high ceiling so this can be over 100m
but still it will be the tallest thing built since city central. if it gets built that is
hopefully we get some more height in the coming years though, especially now that Adelaide is Australia's most livable city

New render is absolutely unique to me in straddling an old bldg totally. Not as impressive as first render, but still good. Quite a big floorplate by appearances as well. TBO I had thought this as dead and not really a serious proposal uinitially.
