yes - they are the other key locations (as i mention) along the Torrens, with one of them approved and ready to go (the wetlands in the botanic gardens that captures water from first creek - see
here)

i'd like to see a render of the plans without all the coloured lights and the hundreds of people standing around
because thats how it will actually look most of the time.
also, the events area in front of parliament house...arent they already building something like this in Victoria square? how many of these areas do we need?
and, that odd structure in front of the Casino...is that really part of this, or just some attention grabbing artistic concept pipe dream?

NIMBY much? ffs why can't people be happy that something like this may actually be going ahead in the forseable future. we have NOTHING like this currently, anywhere.

Fantastic to see that the Morphett Street Bridge will finally be levelled up to the Riverbank and Convention Centre, this will make a big difference in the Riverbank's western side in terms of pedestrian flow.

I'm a little confused about Morphett street, does the north end get elevated?
This would lead to trouble with the WMD intersection. I do like the look of the entire precinct though, very nice, I'm very in favour of it even though I voted for the other mob..Lets just see if it happens. imagine if this AND the VicSquare proposal came to fruition? Wow!! Then for my perfect troika of projects, the city circle tram would be built...I must be dreaming though!

I'd like to see detailed plans too - but we'll simply have to wait. The fly-through is obviously just there to sell the general concept.

Things seem to be really happening over there. The river precinct, if delivered properly WILL end up meeting place. Something of South bank Brisbane evident but better as evidenced in the flythru. Many 'crowd pullers' together will revitalise the CBD as well. Overall a good plan. Far better than what is there ATM. However I was not struck at all by the casino extension - appeared as some bulbous futuristic extension to early 20th century architecture.

Yes, I'd tap that. And I approve of an ultra-modern extension to the Casino instead of trying to be 'sympathetic' - that way, the distinction between the two buildings is obvious rather than some half-baked attempt at postmodernism.
Give me plans! Plans! I want to be able to fully support it.

could have fooled me, everyone's entitled to their own views however. Its clearly just a fly through, not a detailed plan as said above. fly throughs are designed to give realistic impressions as to how the area will operate when occupied by people/during events.
I too kinda like the idea of that casino extension because of the fact that its outrageous. I'm not sure what it is (looks like an enclosed multi level garden?) or if I like the particular example they gave, but I do like the idea. Adelaide doesnt have anything truly artistic in the modern sense like this (architecturaly anyway), I think it could do with a little.
We really have the opportunity to set the trend for other cities in Australia with these developments. Yes, we've been behind for a while, but now we start with a blank canvas, to which top class facilities and entertainment will be added.

It all looks fantastic, but please, some proper 2D plans will make it much clearer in my head.
I'm slightly disappointed that there's:
- No mention of a western entrance to the train station. This would attract people to the western area of the development.
- No mention of the Intercontinental forecourt. This is a huge gap in the North Tce street scape built form and separates the casino and train station from the proposed retail.
In regards to the comment about 'yet another' events space, you have been in Adelaide in March, haven't you? They'll all get used. Maybe not every weekend but enough to warrant their existence.

surely this will have to be included in the final plans...either lifts/escalators off of morphett st bridge down to the platforms, or a tunnel from north tce to the riverbank with lifts/steps up to the platforms, or both...either way it wont be cheap or easy to do, but it is definitly needed.
