Don't forget BHP's Big Con back in 2010-2012, when they took the whole state for a ride, Government, developers, mum-and-dad investors, support services, local families, spruiking their upgrade even in the week leading up to the Commitment Date, regarding the Olympic Dam Mine Expansion. I wouldn't trust those bastards for a second.

Sorry, but that won't be happening any time soon for this little black duck.

Very true. I am still amazed the major resource companies in this country aren't held more to account by the public. They extract billions of dollars of what is effectively a national resource, under a (globally comparable) minimal taxation scheme. They treat employers, contractors, suppliers and communities like crap - with all "social responsibility" focusing on investor perception rather than impact on the ground and they continue to manipulate State and Federal politics aggressively to their advantage.
I have worked with a number of majors - as an external contractor - (mostly in WA/ QLD) and it is truly disgusting seeing how these businesses operate and the damage they cause to local communities and families with their employment/ operating models (e.g. FiFo, embedded contractors, supplier terms) and act like we should all be forever grateful for the comparative pittance that is put back into communities.

It's a shame they're happy to put their name on such a drab building. Hardly giving the company any look of being remotely innovative, and in such a high visibility location.

The service core has risen 1 level since Norman's picture (above) from last Tuesday and site is making its presence felt from northern Victoria Square.

It has been dumbed down. What was already a disappointing development has lost its only redeeming feature. It is now the pig’s arse.
