They kicked out Liberal and Labor members from what i read.SRW wrote:There were embarrassingly few people in the audience for the debate too. I don’t know if there were a number or no-shows, or if the ABC bungled the guestlist. I received an email invite from them but by the time I clicked through to register the link was dead.
Still in substance the debate covered the key topics if a little repetitively. Weatherill won IMO, but Marshall was far better spoken than I expected (even if reliant on completely disingenuous statistics). Xenophon completely fumbled.

never mind, I was reading an advertiser article about the announcement which commented that it is essentially a re-announcement of the 2015 pledge for the same thing.Llessur2002 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 9:20 pmEh?Waewick wrote:I assume you are pissed because the Tiser called it out as a re announced announcement.Llessur2002 wrote:Labor have just announced $30M funding for a new health hub at the Health & Medical precinct on North Terrace, consisting of an eye hospital, chronic diseases clinic and a nurse-lead procedures clinic for minor injuries.

Don't recall this policy being announced by Labor but just saw an election poster on Main South Road advertising that they will build a interchange at Majors Road and the Southern Expressway.
Any views and opinions expressed are of my own, and do not reflect the views or opinions of any organisation of which I have an affiliation with.

I saw the policy in their booklet, unfortunately it's only a feasibility study.[Shuz] wrote:Don't recall this policy being announced by Labor but just saw an election poster on Main South Road advertising that they will build a interchange at Majors Road and the Southern Expressway.
Re: 2018 South Australian State Election
I guess as the freeway extends further, then adding interchanges becomes more beneficial. Almost every vehicle that would use a Majors Road interchange would cross either Main South Road or Lonsdale Road to get to/from it, except for residents of Trott Park and Sheidow Park.Norman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 07, 2018 8:58 amI saw the policy in their booklet, unfortunately it's only a feasibility study.[Shuz] wrote:Don't recall this policy being announced by Labor but just saw an election poster on Main South Road advertising that they will build a interchange at Majors Road and the Southern Expressway.
Up until now, the Expressway just provided a slightly quicker way of joining the traffic jam at Bedford Park. Soon that traffic jam will be at St Marys with the expressway, but still at Bedford Park with South Road.
Is the cost of a freeway interchange justified to get to Bedford park quicker? Probably not.
Is a freeway interchange and realigning the Majors/Black Road intersection justified to get traffic to St Marys quicker? Probably not.
Are they justified as works to get vehicles on/off the freeway to Cross Road/Anzac Highway/SIr Donald Bradman Drive (Airport), Port Road and out the northern end of the city? Quite likely it is.
Those local costs are fairly small in the big scheme of things, and quite likely could be required eventually, but perhaps not until after the Darlington to Emerson section is completed.

Anyone in this forum who thinks our economy is travelling well then read this. It makes for some very sobering reading, but nothing that isn't news to anyone that actually takes an interest in facts or understands economics.. ...
Make no mistake, if it wasn't for the GST equalization (welfare) policy then our state wouldn't look anywhere near as nice as it does now. The fastest growing industry for the past 2 decades has been the state government.

Re: 2018 South Australian State Election
No one wants this state to do better than me, I guarantee it. It's why I moved back here from WA 10 years ago with my skills when I could earn more over there. Why I chose to move my money here, why I chose to buy an off the plan apartment in the city (a complete failure), why I still chose to push on and buy a brand new established apartment in the city because it's awesome. Why I choose to spend my money here, why I just bought a brand new car here.
If you really wanna make a difference then put your money where your mouth is. Rant over.

I really need to learn how to get around these paywalls.
