Looks like the crane sections were only delivered this morning as I saw them waiting on trucks on Sir Donald Bradman Drive this morning on my way to the airport.

Hammerhead by the looks of it too. Not surprising due to the proximity of the flight path

Is it just me or does it look like it's been erected to full height already?

It should go higher. At this height the roof won't be any taller than the Intercontinental.
Cheers

The festival centre crane will go higher because it has the external jacking system already installed. This is the red tower section 3/4 the way up the tower. to increase height the jacking section is moved to the top of the tower and the crane itself is unbolted from the tower. Note the jacking system is open on one side (opposite the the side with the jacks). The jack then lifts the crane up off the tower just more than one standard tower section and so a new tower section can be slid into the space at the top of the tower and bolted to the top of the existing tower and the jacks lower to enable the new section to be bolted the bottom of the crane. each time the crane gains height usually 2 or more new sections are added. At the end of the project when the crane is no longer needed , tower sections are removed until it is within reach of a mobile so it can be fully removed. Please refer to attached videos showing how a tower crane gains height .

The dead giveaway is the tower itself and the cabin placement. Obviously the angle I saw briefly last night was bad and it looked like the crane boom was on slightly elevated angle. Just watched a few minutes of 9 News tonight. Kudos to you Pikey.
Cheers

A few photos from the SAHMRI crane today. The final 3 sections for the second crane were almost in place when the wind came up and then the rain started, so it was abandoned for the day. It looks like the second crane will be taller than # 1 and hopefully will be completed soon. I would think that SAHMRI will really start to progress soon and complete the health and medical precinct (until the W&C Hospital commences.
