I've seen these as they're starting to show up at work. I much prefer the old packaging, but I suppose the new label does give more of an image of 'simple country company'.

Additionally, which Vees link cannot show, the labels have gone from glossy stickers to plain paper stickers, which I feel also draws away appeal.

I've started drinking and cbf looking for the thread, but does anyone know what happened to this proposed development?

Adelaide features heavily in this article from The Ecologist, July 2013, which discusses the idea of sustainable, 'regenerative cities' by a previous Adelaide Thinker in Residence.
Professor Girardet advocates redesigning our cities and their systems of resource use in order to increase sustainability.
Ecopolis: The emergence of 'regenerative cities'
Professor Herbert Girardet has spent much of his working life on this issue and has come up with the concept of ‘regenerative cities' that aims to set out a roadmap of transformation in the way cities function ....
References to Adelaide as an example abound.
Clean, green image on show?
The good news is that there are more and more examples from around the world where the principles of regenerative development are being put into practice, and thanks in part to Professor Girardet's work as a ‘Thinker In Residence' in Adelaide ten years ago, South Australia has become a shining example.

In Greater Adelaide, a city region of 1.2 million people, more than 26% of the city's electricity is produced by wind turbines and solar PV panels. There are over 200,000 houses in the city with photovoltaic roofs, making some of them into net electricity generators.

Efficient energy use is now mandated for all municipal buildings, reducing their carbon emissions by up to 60%. There has been a large-scale retrofit throughout the city to ensure high standards of energy efficiency in people's homes, and a new-build solar village with 110 homes has been designed to the highest sustainable standards. These initiatives have reduced overall carbon emissions from the city by 15% since 2003.

In and around Adelaide, nearly 3 million trees have been planted on 2,000 hectares of land, providing carbon dioxide absorption services, as well as countering soil erosion and increasing biodiversity.

An ambitious zero-waste policy has been implemented that has enabled the production of 180,000 tonnes of compost a year, made from the city's organic waste. This is then used to improve the fertility and soil structure of 20,000 hectares of land near the city that produces most of the fruit and vegetables the populous consumes. This land is also irrigated with reclaimed waste-water.

And to top all of this, Adelaide has the world's first solar powered bus service!
...
Adelaide shows how cities can be planned and retrofitted for resilience and environmental regeneration, and a positive spin-off is the emergence of a new, green economy with the creation of thousands of new, long-term jobs.
...
Adelaide is one of an ever growing number of cities that have taken bold steps towards this vision and have set precedents that can be replicated and further developed.

Wow! A piece of SA history has been re-discovered at Arkaroola in the northern Flinders Ranges and brought back to Adelaide.
Iconic SA treasure and celebrated geologist, Reg Sprigg, and his purpose built diving chamber are part of our state's history.

This could be on prominent and interesting display in that ... possible new Museum celebrating SA? (that some Forum members have been advocating for North Terrace)

'Tardis' diving chamber used by Reg Sprigg found in outback South Australia (ABC News)

Disappointing to see the station may be in trouble, but this line is my favourite from Cr Moran:

"Car parks are always needed, perhaps bus stations aren't any more."

No talk from the councillor about how we could improve the bus services or attract more tourists to use the services, just turn it into a car park and be done with it!!!!

Is this the best we can hope for from a representative of our city council?

This is quite a curious story. If by trouble they are indicating financial problems, then that surprises me, because I was not aware the bus station was meant to be a money spinner. I thought is was a requirement of the government/city council to provide transport infrastructure (which the bus station is) even at a loss. Is the council saying it is not making any money from the apartments above? Is it not making any money from the parking station in the complex? Is it not making money from the Primo Café facing Grote Street? And what is the alternative? Apparently some bus operators are dropping passengers in the suburbs for them to find their own way to other connections...so what! If country commuters are prepared to accept being dropped in some obscure location to find their own way, then that is their own issue. If not, they should lobby their local member to improve such poor service. These services are heavily subsidised by the State government after all. So ACC, if you are not making money from the actual bus station part of this complex, suck it up, and be happy for the parts that do generate income.

I did see somewhere (can't remember now) someone else from the council (not a councillor) coming out and saying exactly that, that it's not meant to be a money spinner, and is running pretty much on par with expectations. Also refuted the claim that there's only ever one bus there at a time. So pretty much the usual Moran bleating.

Maybe the city council have had some warning that Premier Stateliner could be about to fail due to the drop in passenger numbers.

Kind of makes the debate about regional trains being re-instated null and void when even the busses supposedly cant make a go of it. :(
