FYI, I tweeted the ACC about the new pedestrian crossing and how it seemed counterproductive to their pro-pedestrian message. They replied:
"Re: Rundle Place pedestrian crossing. The approval was given by State Gov DAC. ACC supplied comments against implementing"

Rental not being paid was a big part from what I can gather.
it appears the local franchise wasn't well run.
Thanks mate. You'd think that poor turnover was the main reason for their failure to pay rent though.

Rundle Place has axed Canadian clothing stores Joshua Perets, Point Zero and La Vie En Rose, owing more than $200,000 in rent.

ADELAIDE'S flagship shopping centre, Rundle Place, has terminated the leases of three Canadian clothing brands, which it says owes more than $200,000 in rent.
Point Zero, Joshua Perets and La Vie En Rose have shut down just six months after launching their first Australian stores when Rundle Place opened in March.
Termination notices have been posted on all three ground floor shopfronts.
"The staff packed up and left on Tuesday which didn't leave us much option," Rundle Place centre manager Justin Dangerfield said.
"Rundle Place is trading very well but these brands hadn't managed to establish themselves."
Fashion retailers were being sought to fill the vacancies, he said.
"We're in discussion with appropriate brands to fill those spaces."
The notices said more than $102,000 was owed for the Point Zero shop, about $46,000 for La Vie En Rose and $66,000 for Joshua Perets. Stock has been seized to cover the outstanding amounts.
Comment is being sought from Retail Expansion Pty Ltd, which manages the three franchises.
Announcing the move into Adelaide late last year, Retail Expansion director Joseph Waknine said: "Rundle Place has proven to be the right spot for us with the best mixture of national and international big brands."
La Vie en Rose is a specialty lingerie retailer, Joshua Perets serves the teen and tween market and Point Zero offers fashion for men, women and children.

Without having seen anything to suggest it would, I had a feeling that would happen. Just didn't see them leaving that big blank facade facing the mall, even though I don't think it turned out as bad as many (including me) had feared.

Does anyone know if there is any more work needed on this site, other than the Grenfell St frontage?

No sure if anyone has seen the Grenfell Street frontage, but the protective covering of the screen feature has been removed, and it looks spectacular.

Awesome. Still this building annoys me, i think if they somehow managed to get it to 25 floors, it would stand out so much more. Oh well!

The copper will look even better when it when it starts to oxidise and go that pale green tinge...
Does anyone know if the protusions of the copper are supposed to represent anything. I don't think its trying to represent the Bendigo bank logo is it?

Poor workmanship - they were meant to be flat.

Here is a little sneak peak...
The outdoor terrace looks great. Is this part of the new library?
Also wasn't this level originally going to be used as a carpark?. So glad common sense prevailed.
