I think Mawson Lkaes is great and the potential of this suburb is amazing- with the new Mawson central 2 and hotels going up- new (insider info) night spots to open up along main street and mawson central 2- will make ML a little more hip.
Where else but in Adelaide CBD and Glenelg do you have beautiful mutli story living that isnt a flat.
ML is set to be built as Adelaide's second CBD- like Dandinong in Melbourne, Parramatta and Liverpool in Syndey.
All they need to to do is improve The Sanctuary- Speak to the Kauna people about providing them a better shrin than the 2 lumps of untended dirt- maybe a fully grassed area with monuments or 2 lakes with native features within.

It is/was a good chance to have progressive standards of building design (ie sustainable/energy efficient), but they screwed that up.... but apart from that niggle.. I think ML is great

When i was taken on an inspection of the area I was really impressed by the new linear retail centre - it appears there is a turning towards this style again after the onslaught and inroads of the centre style like Marion, tt Gully etc. for so long. The lake reminded me of canal estates of SE QLD.That's something that could take place in the NW coastal areas north of Outer Harbour and even along the peninsula.

Haha, I saw you taking photos around the place today. Were you standing on the barrier at Mawson Interchange?

Thanks for the photo insight Düsseldorfer.
I haven't been to Mawson Lakes for about a year, so it's great to see how much it's changing. And, it's mostly impressive too! Just a few more trees would be nice.

Hooray, updates! From your pics I've changed
Aera to complete and
Lot 310 to under construction.
By the way, I couldn't get Google Earth to locate
HMH Tower properly. Anyone know the exact location? The address is 48 Garden Terrace.

I think the HMH tower is located right behind the Aera building, its kinda looks like they are just 1 building...

Another 5 level development at Mawson Lakes:
Silver Spear Apartments. Located at lot 38 Augustine ST. This building will rise 5 levels.
From the real estate agent:
Step into a Silver Spear apartment and you’ll be immediately captivated by the ambience of light and space, not generally associated with multi story apartment living. A large living area stretches before you to large picture windows and sliding doors opening to a party size balcony. The open courtyard in the centre of the building allows natural light flows through your apartment.
There are two generous size bedrooms. The Master has an ensuite, including shower, so the morning race for the shower is over. The main bathroom is spacious enough to include an island bath, shower cubicle, WC suite and vanity unit.
But its how we have used space that makes your place in Silver Spear Apartments so livable. For instance, there is a waste disposal chute on every level and your car park has overhead storage space. Even the lift is bigger so that moving furniture is no longer a tight squeeze.
Your kitchen is equipped with fully laminated cupboards, stone bench tops, stainless steel oven and dishwasher, glass cooktop and a microwave and fridge cupboard. When you move in, everything will be at hand for you to relax and enjoy your exciting new space!

It's very Mawson Lakes with that corner curve. Nothing special.

Where is Augustine Street? I can't find it on Google Maps.
