theyre going to be very frequent, and probably more reliable than the buses. this is good news.
do you think the 99C will eventually be replaced?

lol, that's hopeless

in regards to no right turns along KW street.
couldnt they consider those 'hook turns' or the ones that require the driver to turn right from the left-hand lane, which are used in Melbourne? just a suggestion

Right turns are outlawed during peak times as it is so I can't see why we even need them at all. It's not that hard to find alternative routes within Adelaide's grid system. The beauty of it is that traffic flow will be better with a tram lane and no right turns than how it is now, when people try to do right hand turns and blocking a whole lane. I can forsee that with less buses (some replaced by trams) and no right hand turns, the traffic flow will actually improve - completely opposite to the claims of the critics. Afterall, the trams won't be pulling in and out of the traffic every 100m.
As for hook turns, to be honest I don't have any faith in Adelaide drivers being able to negotiate hook turns. It would cause more chaos than anything we've ever seen before.
Bring in the bulldozers already.

Positive tram line response
August 07, 2006 12:15am
MORE than 2000 people collected information about the tram line extension yesterday from a display in Rundle Mall.
Rod Hooks, from the Office of Major Projects, said "there was an overwhelmingly positive response to the project".

The display was in the Adelaide Station concourse this morning. I was going to have a look at it on the way back but it was gone by 10am. Morning commuters don't have time to stop and look!

I know what you mean Atd. I have enough trouble getting through the ticket gates at the railway station at 8:30 in the morning, once I am through that hurdle it is full steam out of there. Before I even realised what it was I had a booklet shoved in my face and I just ignored it, I hate having stuff almost forced on me, plus I am not in the best of moods at that time in the morning
It was a really poor time to be trying to notify the public about the tramline extension, probably annoyed most people.

I seriously think it's about think they remove the Bee Line shuttle bus from its services!
The bus does not suck, the drivers are!
Time to move on to a safer tram ride.

Beeline drivers in my experience have been very nice actually. What's the beef with them?
