Is this and the Southern/Darlington roadworks a 24/7 work site?

I think it can be at times, and certainly has in the past. However, as far as I have seen when cycling home there's been no activity on the Port Road section of T2T after 5pm for a few weeks now.

The OH line work I think does happen overnight - I can hear the distant hum of machinery from our house some nights which according to Google Maps is 700m away from the South Road overpass site.

Both are definitely 24/7 work sites. Alot of work gets down at Darlington in particular after hours.

As part of the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, the T2T Alliance will continue to install retaining walls for the Outer Harbor rail overpass, along the rail corridor between South Road and the Queen Street / Elizabeth Street rail crossing.

To minimise disturbance to train services, the works will take place each night between 7pm and 6am from Monday 31 October to Thursday 3 November 2016 (finishing 6am Thursday 3 November 2016), weather permitting.

Work does happen at night, not every night though. T2T night works usually occur on weekends.

Norman,

That "some sort of tower" in your photos is a sewer vent, known technically as a stink pipe. :toilet:

The local (33kv?) lines have now been removed along most of the T2T corridor, only the big ones (66kv?) left to go underground!

As predicted by I follow PAFC, the Outer Harbour line was closed this weekend while a medium size mobile crane was lifting some precast concrete panels into place on the southeast side (Port Rd side). However there was nowhere to park to get a picture.

The Grange Road bridge will open on 21 November, meaning the roundabout will be removed and the signalised intersection will take its place.

More works will continue until the bridge is fully completed in March 2017.

I quite liked the roundabout.. I think it actually made traffic flow easier/quicker!
