Yes there are now 3 cranes at Glenelg, the yellow crane which went up in Dec 2022 is actually at 8 Durham st working on a low rise extension to the Avista Apartments. the blue crane which went up this week is working on the Glenelg hotel on the corner of Jetty rd and Colley Tce. There is a third crane at 22 Adelphi Tce North Glenelg working on Quay View apartments.

Surprise crane going up at the internode building on Grenfell street. I know it’s getting refurbished but surprised it needs a tower crane. I haven’t seen any plans though.

I, too, was surprised by the tower crane going up at the rear of 150 Grenfell St. Picture 1 pm 11/2/2023.

I think there’s 8 cranes in metro. 3 at Glenelg. 2 at the QEH, 2 at Flinders Uni and 1 at Mawson Lakes.

Seems to be some sort of mobile crane convention on the Torrens Parade Ground today too. Made for an interesting sight.

Looked like the last crane at 55 King William St was coming down over the weekend as well(?)

Did they take it down and drive it down to the Internode building....?

Very old plans that are evidently coming to fruition, they’re connecting the two buildings from the ground floor up, presently they are only connected by first two floors, I imagine there will be considerable structural work required.

Its difficult keeping tabs on the number of cranes in Adelaide, when you live in the bush these days, but I suspect our crane counter is incorrect.

My understanding is that in the CBD there are the following cranes:

2 at SAHMRI 2
2 at Festival Tower
1 at 185 Pirie Street
1 at the Grenfell Street redevelopment
1 at the GPO
1 at Waymouth Street
1 at Le Cornu

total of 9

Likewise, in the metro area I think we have 8.
3 at Glenelg. 2 at the QEH, 2 at Flinders Uni and 1 at Mawson Lakes.

There are 10 cranes in the CBD You left out the crane at 278 south Tce, so total is 10 CBD and 8 suburban =18

Hard for me to keep up with cranes in Adelaide these days
