The new traffic light installation is somewhat confusing for vehicles turning right from South Road into Grange Road. When they have turned and are on the bridge they are faced with red lights which only apply to traffic from Manton St. Cars were coming to a halt even though there is no stop line before the northbound lanes of South Rd. Last evening there were a couple of personnel standing behind the barrier on the south side of the bridge frantically waving the right turn traffic from South Rd through the junction.
Another observation from yesterday was that the 66kV power lines along the east side of South Rd from Pym St have been removed from the poles south of Torrens Rd and and have been diverted across South Rd to the new underground cable which runs from the north side of Torrens Rd beside the west surface road to Croydon substation.

I think this will only be an issue while the temporary barriers are in place. The right turn looks like it will sweep more into Grange Rd once they are removed.

Some pictures of the railway bridge project as at 27 Nov 2016. (1) A very heavy lift crawler crane has been set up on the vacant land between the railway line and the transformer Station. (2)the base for one of the supporting columns for the new bridge, (3) the retaining wall on the south western side in Euston Tce Croydon.

The T2T Project team will be installing bridge beams this weekend to construct the second half of the Port Road bridge.
Due to this work, speed and lane restrictions will be in place around the Port Road intersection with South Road from 7pm Friday 2 December to 6am Monday 5 December.
Please allow some extra travel time and take care when driving through the area.

Still no update to the Northern Connecter designs on the project site.
There is however a glimpse of the current southern interchange design at the 30 second mark of the sod turning video.

There's another shot of a design map at the 13 second mark of a 9 News segment,
The video resolution is unfortunately quiet poor so it's hard to see what it is. Renders shown later in the video are from earlier (currently published) designs.

Another traffic switch will occur this weekend at the Torrens Road/South Road intersection. This is in preparation for the construction of the Torrens Road bridge.
