What his religion is is irrelevant. What he knows? So if he's Christian he only knows about Christianity? He couldn't have possibly studied or read any other religions texts..
It's not about whether he is doing a show about Christianity or Islam or Buddhism etc.
What my rant is about is some people sooking about it, and the fact we wouldn't see a show that would offend overly sensitive muslims(most of them, sadly). It's the two crazy sides of political correctness.
Some think its ok to offend white Christians and they should accept it and get over it, and others think we shouldn't offend "minorities" like Muslims because we should be more tolerant.
It's like the whole Indigenous/Aboriginal/Australian debate.
Aboriginals get special treatment, extras from governments that other Australians don't get. Has it's merits.
But one elder said that no court in this country has the right to judge his people. Well why do they expect and demand all the free benefits they receive that the rest of us don't? If they are above the law and it's reach, then they should be above our education healthcare financial and employment support.
Where's the common sense gone?
Yeh their ancestors were hard done by. What happened was wrong. That's the way things were done back then. It's your own fault however when you are a drunk stumbling through Adelaide falling asleep on the road or a drunk skipping town to own in the outback looking for alcohol.
Maybe I should start demanding Turkey give me all these sorts of benefits our indigenous get..after all they killed over a million of my people, drove millions more out and stole thousands of children(just like our stolen generation...except our stolen generation knows who they are and where they come from as do their kids etc).
We now have this problem of extremist Islam and their intolerance in this country.
They aren't jumping on the anti-heckle Jesus bandwagon because they are offended but because they sense an opportunity to impose their will through a back door. This is how it starts. Islam is above its followers ethnicity. This is dangerous because regardless of me being Orthodox, others being Jewish, Anglican, Athiest, Buddhist and many other faiths in this country, we are above all that, Australians.
Pandering to every minority group that wants special treatment is stupid, but that's what happens.
Aboriginal people should take the opportunities presented to them, and there a f***load more for them then anyone else in this country, and make the most of it. And everyone else sooking from overly sensitive religious types should keep their preaching to those who want to hear it and stop trying to push their beliefs on the rest of society. And the rest of us should grow a back bone.
