Jetstar flight to Bali increase to 10x a week from 1/7/17.
Just checked a Tuesday and looks like they are going for:
ADL-DPS
JQ127: dep 7:55am arr 11:25AM
JQ131: dep 7:15pm arr 10:45PM
DPS-ADL
JQ128: dep 12:45PM arr 7:30PM
JQ132: dep 11:50PM arr 6:35AM
Surely the preference on the way back would be for the daytime flight? Overnight 5hour jetstar flight would be awful, especially one that leaves at 11:50PM, requiring you to plan your final day of the trip without a hotel.

Somewhere around the baggage collection area

This seems like a crazy decision. Is their logic that people used to carry Krispy Kremes in from interstate so there is a high demand for them at the airport?

Evening all,
A gem of a visitor to Adelaide this evening. Saudia Arabina B777-300ER arrived direct from Riyadh to drop off their National Soccer team for the match against the Socceroos next Thursday.

Perhaps it's the reverse?

That Saudi plane was a nice interruption to the constant stream of 737's and A320's

The Saudi team also has a fully wrapped coach bus that they're cruising around the city in. Must be nice to have that oil money $$$

QantasLink is returning to Kangaroo Island - there'll be three flights a week between Adelaide and Kingscote year-round, increasing to five during the summer peak. There'll also be three flights a week between Melbourne and Kingscote between Dec 17 and the end of January.
There'll be a lot of spin around this but Qantas already tried this 10 years ago, including the Melbourne flights. So we're yet to see any results from the airport upgrade down there.

Bookable in December:
Nice 35min Adelaide flights.
QF2142 Dep ADL 10:40 Arrive KGC 11:15
QF2143 Dep KCG 11:45 Arrive ADL 12:20
Nice 1h25/1h35 Melbourne flights
QF2140 Dep Mel 12:20 Arriv KGC 13:15
QF2141 Dep KCG 13:45 Arr MEL 15:50
Being Qantas, flights to KI are now bookable from all around Australia and elsewhere in the world with connections in both Melbourne and Adelaide. E.g. Sydney to Kingscote via Adelaide will take 3h35m and SYdney to Kingscote via Melbourne will take 3h45min.
You can even do some interesting combinations like Tokyo Narita to KI via Melbourne in only 16h, or Guangzhou to KI via Melbourne in only 13h.

Is there any info. on how the China Southern flights are going in terms of numbers ?
I've heard that Chinese tourists numbers coming to Australia are booming, but I imagine it's more
to the other cities then Adelaide.

Evening all,
Air Asia X looking at an Adelaide comeback...
AirAsia X could be back in Adelaide again in the not too distant future as the budget international airline increases routes in the region. Broome is also on the cards for the Malaysia-based carrier that has been flying to Sydney, Melbourne, Darwin, Gold Coast and Perth for almost ten years. Air Asia Group's chief executive Tony Fernandes said a lot of people have been asking him about restarting in Adelaide, a market they left in 2015. "We had it, we pulled out of it, but at that time were were a different airline," Fernandes said at the international Paris Air Show on Tuesday. "Now I think we are in much better shape, so I hope we can do it in the not too distant future."
He ruled out any foray into Australia's "well covered" domestic market, or flying again to Europe where the competition is fierce. "I think it is much more important to go to Adelaide than London right now," he said. "There are places begging for more connectivity, and South Australia is one of them. "Right now there is a bit of a bloodbath going on in Europe, I only want to go into places where we can make a difference."
So Asia's leading low-cost carrier will focus on connecting more places in Asia, as well as new points in Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines. "And to create connectivity in even smaller destinations in Australia, like Broome ... That's kind of my next journey." Australia is becoming more profitable for AirAsia X, the long haul sister of AirAsia, which is the third-largest foreign airline in Australia, he said after the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards at the Paris Airshow.
AirAsia scooped the World's Best Low-Cost Airline award for a ninth time at the ceremony at Le Bourget Airport on Tuesday. "It is pretty cool for a little airline that started 16 years ago to win the award for a ninth time," Fernandes said. AirAsia X won the world's best low cost airline premium cabin and premium seat. Qantas was awarded for having the world's best premium economy class and the best premium economy seat. Virgin Australia was not overlooked either, winning best airline in Australia/Pacific and named as having the best airline staff in Australia/Pacific. But Doha-based Qatar Airways took out the most coveted gong, 2017 Airline of the year. The 2017 awards were determined by 19.9 million customer surveys done after flights by people from more than 105 nationalities. *The writer was a guest of Air Asia at the airshow in Paris.

There were rumours of Air Asia returning to Adelaide last year as well.
It would be great to see Air Asia return but it's fair to say that there's still not much substance to it.
Why would an airline pull out of a city and then return a couple of years later ?
