The big ICE store in myer Centre has closed. There really is nothing worth going here for except Myer and even they downsized. If only they kept the original myer building and or Dazzleand. Surely the owners must be making a loss the Centre is empty.

It recently changed hands. So I'd suggest the price paid would have been reflective of the rent.
So I doubt they are losing money.

Expected, ICE never really took off when they relocated there. You'd think that considering their Rundle Mall store never did very well that they'd realise moving to an isolated shopping centre wouldn't do them any better...

The one at Marion closed too so I think the whole brand is dead.

Ice just closed down at Arndale too so probably a larger issue with the brand.

I guess you could say that the owners decided to put the brand on ice...

Maybe it's the economic freeze Darius Horsham has been talking about.

The old currency exchange and Optus shop fronts in Citi Arcade have been leased, do any of the S.A. application gurus know who might be filling this space?
Also, I went into the Myer Centre yesterday and I think that the new owners should be concerned with the fact that they now have five major (in terms of size) retail spaces empty and obviously an entire level of the centre is also empty. I've long felt that the old footprint of DazzleLand could be converted into a cinema complex however with the new GU film house opening in October, they've missed their opportunity for that.

Could they purposely be letting leases lapse/not offering extensions to either re-develop/negotiate with new retailers? Or could they be looking at different attractions? Could an I-fly (indoor skydiving) or a bounce/latitude business work/be done in the top few floors?
