This could be the reason for the single track section by the Student apartment building. The mobile crane is taking down the tower crane today. It is supported only by the outrigger jacks which are where the second track would be located. All the crane wheels are off the ground.

Services that stop at A1 should just be directed to B1 and maybe services that stop at A2/A3 should be directed to stop b2

Do you think perhaps that Labor will announce as an election sweetener to extend the tram out to Adelaide Oval?

Small sure, not sure if the east link is budgeted yet. But a lot of footy fans would be happy by the extension to the oval.

from a usefulness POV, completing the City Loop would be better IMO. Taking it out to Norwood is going to release all the " The Parade is too narrow! and what about the on-street parking? A city loop would prossibly have fewer visible opponents, making it a much better porkbarrel leading in to the election.
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

I'd say either a city loop or North Adelaide extension (inc. Adelaide Oval). Though, an extension out to the Parade or Unley would certainly be something to pitch to voters of two very safe Liberal seats. Who knows? I would say that these works however are merely a catalyst for an imminent announcement. Gets voters thinking: "Well, it now makes sense to extend the line to Adelaide Oval or the Parade having done all of this."

I would think that the majority of people who live in Norwood would be the 4wd-vehicle-single-occupant type who would react negatively to any more "traffic disruptions" and wouldn't go near public transport even if it was very good. There are also a lot of young renters in that area, as well as shoppers who would like easier access to the Parade. Then there are also the international students which live in the inner east. City loop would be the best bang for buck investment ... it would turbo-charge apartment development demand in the CBD ever further (look at what has happened on KW South since the tram extension) and CBD workers, tourists, day visitors, students and residents would all benefit on a daily basis. However, politicians are not likely to see it from this perspective .... the thinking will be "let's propose a line where we think it will win us the most seats".

State I imagine we *might* get a promise of an extension to the Parade, airport or, less likely, Prospect. An interesting curve ball would be extending the KWS line up past the Oval into North Adelaide. That would work wonders for making North Adelaide a bit more accessible but I don't think it's high on their priority or vote-winning list.
Federal Labor did make a pledge before the 2016 federal election to contribute $500M towards a 'major expansion' of the AdeLink network if they won. It would be great if they repeated the pledge at the next election but I'm not sure about the specifics of the funding - i.e. the actual funding arrangement could have been $500M over 30 years or something. It would be good to get at least one new line out of it in the short term though.
