What is it with people picking on the Grange line? It IS actually used quite well, so I don't see why it shouldn't be used.

I think there may be legitimate reason why the trains dont run at night. Even in Sydney (busiest train network in the country) they dont run them at night, although they have replacement bus routes that services the major stations and i think they run every night of the week.

Its crazy they have 2-3 busses an hour from the city to Kogarah where i sometimes work and stay, all night long:

The reason neither trams nor trains run at 4am on a Sunday morning is because people like me would spill their Hungry Jacks all over the floor, and proceed to have long and annoying discussions with the security guards about largely irrelevant points.

I think the current system is good, though they should introduce a service on saturday morning (especially for the outer suburbs like the hills). I had to pay $72 two months ago for a taxi because I had no way of getting home - never bloody again!.

But then again I will be moving right into Adelaide in the next few months, so I wont have to worry about catching a bus at some crazy hour but a $5-10 taxi fair instead!

I also would like to see an N44... come on AdMet!

Across the CityRail network there is constantly trackwork occurring and this occurs pretty much every day of the year. The larger shutdowns of the network usually occur on weekends though. The TransAdelaide network gets only a bit of maintenance every now and then, little in comparison to the CityRail network.

Track works are underway on the Glenelg line. Here are some shots from this morning.

Note the safety precautions on the Sturt Creek bridge. Temporary fencing is installed, along with temporary planking between the lines.

I believe the appropriate term is 'Sturt Concrete Wasteland'.

Everything between Sturt Creek and Brighton Rd as far as I know. There are stacks of standard length rail in the car park next to the depot, but I haven't heard where they are going.

I believe that the Goodwood overpass will be done at some time but I don't think that this is scheduled for Easter.

That's like when I see poor sods waiting at weekday only bus stops on a Sunday for a bus that wont come until Monday. I usually go tell them where they have to walk to in order to get a weekend bus. I'm so nice XD

Anyway, its good that they are upgrading the track, with any luck the trip to glenelg will be a much smoother ride

and yes, work like this on the gawler/noarlunga lines is long overdue
