I've been beefing up the numbers of the project list by adding the envisioned extra towers of this project. What's the small blue building behind Altitude? Any details? Should I add it with the others?
Cheers.
Good question, i'm not sure what the blue building is. I'll endeavour to find out.

There was an article published int he latest City Messenger, where there is a mention that there may be a further tower designated fro the precinct. The article quotes the Lord Mayor as saying that the ACC owns the lands at 85 Franklin Street (where the current bus terminal is) and that under the agreement with Urban Construct and Multiplex they can develop the land into an office tower, or a further residential tower if demand is strong enough. As far as most of us are concerned the Precinct would involve 5 residential towers. As the ACC is responsible for this development, I would assume that the Lord Mayor knows what he is talking about regarding this project. Therefore talk of an office tower may be an indication that there will now be a sixth tower?

As of yet, there's no official plans to expand the trams, just political talk.

That is not necessary, just upgrade the pedestrian footpaths, clean up the area and it would be fine. Don't need more flag poles.

In today's real estate section of the Advertiser, Urban Construct had a round up of their current porjects and they are saying contruction will start on Altitude in April (not sure if that has already been stated). Any news on whether the DAC has approved Altitude yet?

Ok I got a little curious and also am looking at buying something else soon so I thought that I would go down and check out these apartments - all in Altitude as I want to go higher than I am currently (5th floor). I REALLY can't believe that these apartments are selling as well as they are. They have two bedroom apts that are only 56 sq. m.! My apartment is 80 Sq. m and I thought THAT was small.
Their biggest apartments were on the 16-17 being three bedrooms but still a paltry 136 sq. m. and the amount of money was phenomenal. A vast amount of apartments were 1 bedroom - it seems that a lot of people are attracted by the 'red dec' cos I can't see anything else attractive about Altitude from an occupier point of view.
Spire's apts shit all over these!

Couldn't agree more Pistol. My wife and i went for a look last weekend and were gobsmacked by the sizes and prices. A 65m 2-bed facing south on
level 10 with 1 bathroom - they wanted $624,000 ! The agent told me financial planners are buying them for Asian clients sight unseen ! A 56m
1 bedder has been converted to a 2-bedder by slicing off half the living area - which hardly existed in the first place. And so much for the
Rec-Deck - it will be gradually built as the stages are developed so people buying in stage 1 or 2 will only have a small portion of it completed
when they move in. I believe the majority of these apartments will be for the International students. If they get to complete all stages due to
demand there will be over 800 apartments on this site ! !

i think i'll defer purchase til the next housing downturn when the Asian Clients start panic selling!

Iit is disappointing that the apartments in this development are so small. I lived for a while in a 56 sq m single bedroom apartment in Bangkok and it was pretty cramped, no room to leave anything lying around. Then moved into a larger one (around 80 sq m) which had 2 berdrooms, two en suite and a common living area. Even that was a bit small, there is no way of getting away from each other. Buying a small apartment like that is fraught with risk and there will be little if any capital gain. It's probably OK for student rental etc but that is a limited market. In CBD apartment living area, bigger is better.

I think you may have the wrong idea Prof. These apartments are for low income and homeless folk. 56sq metres sure beats living in a Goodwill Bin, under a bush, or in a car.

I think the Professor is talking about the apartments in Altitude that are definitely not aimed at low income households when they are starting at 400k for a 1 bedroom at 55 sqm
