[COM] Re: 176-186 Morphett Street | 59m | 18lvls | Residential
Here is a couple of pictures I took Saturday afternoon (less traffic about and less chance of being run over) one from south Morphett St and one from north on Morphett St Bridge.

Starting to make quite an impact - I also noticed it sticking out clearly while driving down Montefiore Rd. Would it be correct in saying this is about two-thirds complete, height-wise?

Shame that this one isn't particularly photogenic at the moment, it's having a really big impact now. Hard to take really good shots of it. But here we are:
Dominating its surrounding:
The back end from Waymouth Street:
And this shot from near the Bus Station.
I was quite surprised with how large in both height and width the building looked when I saw it from Whitmore Square. It's helping to make Light Square feel a lot more "urban" than a few years ago. Just need Palladium to start, as currently it appears that the site's just fenced off without any action.
This square could even be more impressive or on par with Hindmarsh Square in a few years if Palladium, whatever's happening at the Precinct and U2 go ahead I reckon. Would also like to see something built to hide that carpark from the square on the western side.

That side of the city is going to be completely different in a few years time. There's a proposal
also about to come through for the site on the corner of Waymouth street and Morphett street.
Unfortunately for the people living in Vision it will block the view of Light square, but that's life I guess.

It's interesting watching developments like this one going up with all the scaffolding still on. Still no idea what it will actually look like until it nears full completion. I'm used to the style of construction where only the top 4-6 floors are under wraps, and the lowermost floors already revealed.

I'm positive there was workers on site this morning. At the very least, they were on site from 7am to 5pm yesterday.
[COM] Re: 176-186 Morphett Street | 59m | 18lvls | Residential
I saw a comment on facebook about one of the workers complaining they had not been paid for 3 months from the construction company, and another person saying they went belly up. I cannot remember for the life of me where i saw the post.
I went past this morning, no workers on site and site gate closed at 8:30am.
Happy to be proven wrong, building looks to be in the same spot as it was last week too.

More likely to be a subcontractor rather then the main developer i think.

I just happened to walk past at 12.30 today. After checking some of my past pictures, the gate at the northern end of the site is normally closed it must only be used for deliveries. The tower has definitely grown in the last 2 weeks. They currently working on the 17th level on the east and now the south side. There are 2 external lifts to the left of the crane tower a lager Blue goods lift next to the crane tower at level 14 and a smaller people lift at level 9. There were also lights on inside on the ground floor. Also there was no action at U2 in Waymouth St today. They have knocked down a brick wall at the rear of the site in the last 2 weeks but nothing else. There were 2 piling rigs at work in Grote st today.
