Alright Ben just for you...
Liebherr lifting two tower sections into place...

Some new public artwork in Hindmarsh Square that I haven't seen before

Closeup of the artwork... interesting.
More happening on site as I walked away but I am sure that someone else will get more shots tomorrow. If not i'll keep you informed.

Just went down there myself - plenty of action at last on the site.
Good pictures Pistol. Especially like that last one with the view from the impaled art work

I like the art work. Anyone know whether it's permanent or just a festival installation?

I would say it is permanent as they are bronze statues.
The tower looks like it is at full height now with the lifting collar in place from what I saw on my walk home from work.

More photospam of crane as of 5:15 pm.

Alright I might be a little excited about this crane going up but there are two good reasons for that:
1. As I live right nearby, I see this everyday and have watched it go up all day and...
2. It is good to FINALLY see some serious action on this site as this thread was started way back on July 19th 2005!

Thanks for the great photos. Makes a real difference to be able to see the activity. When the Baulderstone crane goes in at Balfours in the next week or so Adelaide will start to look like a growing, vibrant city again, at last...

Damit! I was there Friday afternoon when they started erecting it and wanted to stay to watch how they get the bloody crane on top of the tower. But I had things to do.
