The Memorial Walk is OK. It has significantly improved the appearance of Kintore Avenue. That being said, the further down you go the worse the Government House gardens get, they'll need to work on that...
Regardless of how it turned out, I still feel this was a missed opportunity when compared to the original proposal of taking 40-50m of Government House land. I get why some were opposed to this idea because it's a sizeable chunk to take from these pristine grounds but this is Adelaide's main war memorial precinct, when compared to what Melbourne even Brisbane have done we could have and should have done a lot more...

Will's post didn't appear to have the attached pictures...
This is what I like to see! Hopefully the buyer of this site has similar ambitions, looks like a new tallest and second tallest...
Whoever buys City X and develops it will need to address the retail layout on the site, it's a shambles.

Yes! But the top needs to be different, need something unique that stands out, not just square like all the others

The thing about CX is it isn't one building - it's a series of buildings all gathered around a meandering, covered walkway. When they were demolishing the old faux walls and ceilings to replace the new faux walls and ceilings, they exposed some of the old buildings external walls, there were old stone brick walls with ghost signs on them (now again covered). I wonder if they are all there still?
I'm having visions of old buildings "inside" providing a much more interesting internal architecture than the laminated-white boredom that it currently is.
I wish I'd managed to take pictures back then, but it was only glimpses between construction barriers in the dark.
Or it could have been the drugs...

I sometimes wonder about the two of you.
You set one another off.

Not sure where to post this, but the Testra exchange building on Waymouth Street has scaffolding erected around the base of the building... Any idea what's going on here? Please tell me they're finally doing a way with the windowless building...

They are fixing some of the concrete panels.
