The hotel on the Hines site will be badged with Accor's Ibis brand.Ben wrote:I'm not sure if this is a recent development but "Closing Down" sign are now erected all over this building.
I've also heard from a semi reliable source Accor will be opening a hotel in Adelaide being either a Novotel or Sofitel. I say semi reliable as they told me it's going above the shopping centre on the Harris Scarfe site. Clearly not happening but maybe they mean the Hines site or this one? time will tell.
probably wont get built, it's just too good for AdelaideWaewick wrote:this site?
They should fine developers who pull these stunts.Ben wrote:When I asked the devleoper directly about a year ago he said they have no intention of actually building this hotel and basically it was to increase the value of the land - that being said plans change, but with 3 hotels eitheir under construction or about to commence I don't know if we have the demand for this as well.
Perhaps DA's should be automatically revoked if the land is sold? That'll stop that little game in it's tracks.rev wrote:They should fine developers who pull these stunts.Ben wrote:When I asked the devleoper directly about a year ago he said they have no intention of actually building this hotel and basically it was to increase the value of the land - that being said plans change, but with 3 hotels eitheir under construction or about to commence I don't know if we have the demand for this as well.
I seem to remember there was going to be some new rules on the amount of time a DA can be delayed/renewed but I can't find the reference to it now.Nathan wrote:Perhaps DA's should be automatically revoked if the land is sold?
