Yes it was frustrating to wait and then miss the real begining of the project.
I knew it was starting but had to get a flight out. I really hope that this becomes a landmark building and balances the other sites building on Hindmarsh sq. so that the four planned buildings will transform that end of town.

I was in the city last night, and I was shocked by the size of this crane. It is HUGE! Very nice!

No different crane. This has been supplied by LCR Lindores, it look likes a heavy lifter. For all the crane freaks check this link out.

It's an older crane, a Favell Favco M380D, last time we saw one of this size was on CC1.
I was there for a little while on Saturday while they were assembling the boom. Nice blokes to talk to. According to one of them, they'll hopefully be erecting the BH crane at the gallery site this weekend.

Great to finally see real progress on this site. Thanks for all the pics Pistol78. This is the tallest one going up at the moment and it should have a great impact for that end of town.

Thanks for the updated photos guys, the artwork seems interesting, but it doesn't fancy me.
Looks like some dead people on skewers.

I'm surprised by everyones reaction to the size. I actually thought it was quite small.
Here is a pic from today, it is nothing compared to SA Water but hopefully when construction rises it will be higher then Sa Water crane.

Some Favco M380D's can have the potential max lift of 26T. Yet this all comes down to what size winch it has on board, footing design etc.

Great pic there Ben from your office. Thanks for the effort. The crane will definately get bigger as it rises with the building over time. Like what I see in regards to Coglin, Thomson Playford and 400 King William Street in that picture too.
