Here are some quick pics from today. The Northern crane was being lifted and part of Waymouth blocked of to traffic. You can just see the construction blokes in the collar of the crane.

Good work mate. I was there a few hours ago but was camera-less.

They've put up some advertising boards on Waymouth Street with updated renders. The one of the view from Vic Square looks amazing!

Old Advertiser building is being demolished too.

Thanks Pants. I didn't see those render boards, so look forward to seeing them. Also noticed they seem to be repaving the footpath from the corner of Bentham/Waymouth towards new Advertiser building as they made a mess of that during construction :D I noticed there seemed to be a group of trucks loading up the last 2nd hand bits of office furniture from the old Advertiser building. They looked very excited over their find. Had a laugh at that

how r they going to demolish the old advertiser building? any explosives used would have a bad impact on nearby buildiungs with rubble and dust "poisioning" <- cant think of word to use there atm, lol.

i hate the old advertiser building, but again; ill miss the countdown clock. any hopes for that being relocated?

There wouldn't be any explosives used, just a slow top down style of demolition. I wouldn't be surprised if they erected a tower crane to assist.

Noticed the Northern crane rise this morning, from the South road/cross rd overpass!

Anyone notice that the eastern edge of CC1 in that render looks almost exactly the same as the east side of the advertiser building? As in same colours etc.

Thanks Pants for the images!

Thank God that the tower is going to be blue! I was really dissapointed with the previous render that Culwulla showed us showing the building in an ugly green colour. I still think its a shame that the blades have been removed but the dissapointment is lessened by how the building will look like from Vic Square.

I also have mixed feelings about the Advertiser building being demolished. It was constructed in 1958-59 and was one of Adelaide's first modern style towers. Whilst it looked ugly from Vic Square, I really liked its early modern marble facade from King William Street. However I am happy that the tower replacing it, appears stylish and from the render it looks taller.
