Interestingly, SkyCity are going to reopen their North Terrace entrance from today. This was closed only a few months ago to coincide with the station lane redevelopment and the reopening of their heritage entrance. There will now be three entrances to the casino - North Tce, heritage and promenade.

I wonder if they noticed a downturn in foot traffic when the North Tce entrance closed?
Almost a bit of a shame really. That North terrace entrance really is unbefitting of a casino. Some brighter lighting and a daily scrub of that footpath, and perhaps some plants might benefit, but on past observation, it is a dark and dirty entrance.

They really should only open it on weekends after dark...and as you say give it a clean before they shut the doors.

The North Tce entrance should be permanently closed and left for the restaurants there.

Not sure if someone has mentioned it.

WBC moving in Sept next year.

Its a number of floors, so be great for foot traffic around the area.

The dining area on the ground floor took their hoardings down this afternoon. It's one restaurant.

As a Flinders Uni employee, I can't help feeling we're a little responsible. 😈

Same group behind East End Cellars, they'll likely do well, provided they don't skimp out on their trading hours like they do in the East (11.00pm last drinks, lol). Mind you, most of their success at the East End is probably the result of their owner knowing someone on the ACC who seems to allow them a lot of exemptions to their outdoor dining license.

I hear Westpac are having naming rights for the east and west facades. What a mess

Makes sense as there are anchoring points on both sides, but I agree with you, it's going to look very messy. I would say the Charter Hall building on KWS with Telstra and NAB around the top of the building is pushing, meanwhile the old Bank of NSW building on the KWS/North Terrace corner looks ridiculous with its multiple badges on the top. Surely whoever pays the top dollar should get the naming rights to a building.

Not only did they strip off presumably original “Bank of NSW” lettering to add those gaudy signs, they didn’t even do a good job the stone work is still stained and showing where the lettering used to be.

I'm fairly sure New York City bans naming rights on all new builds. Buildings look a lot cleaner without logos.

I agree I think logos on buildings took cheap and tacky.

The original lettering was removed a few decades ago. The most recent lettering was Westpac, which left no trace when it was removed.
