Aurora is not an apartment building. Instead you buy office space. I think that for 30sqm2 on the lower floors will set you back $189 000. For more infor I would recommend the Aurora website: http://www.auroraonpirie.com.au

All of the above buildings are vacent except the 2 level building in Hyde st and the Ciao restaurant and Joggers World. Joggers world are relocating to their old site (where the explosion was last year) in about August this year when the building will be finished.

Behind the old Powerstate Head office there is a rather large ground level only carpark. So really there is a lot of vacant buildings and land already so no wonder they are keen to get on with it.
sorry to bring up an old topic, but this is actually incorrect

the old hong kong building is still being tenanted, by the jewellery group, who are leasing it from the Zamels family. (i work for the jewellery group)

we will be moving in february to our new premesis in Vic Square, this is why the old Powerstate building will be demolished first followed by the Hong Kong building (4 story one)

Originally, we had a 2 year lease from april this year, which would have expired in 2009.

i can provide more information on the site if you like, i know the area very well :D

Variation to previous - Demolish existing buildings and construct 2, 15 level office buildings with ground level retail tenancies, ancillary car parking and other facilities - Various amendments

Probabaly a dumbing down of the design (more exposed concrete, more green glass, removal of the decorative features on the façade). Hopefully I'm wrong, but recent events...

It looks like the developers are a little nervous about recent market events.
