YESThe building may even, eventually, tower over the city’s tallest building – the 132 metre-tall Westpac House – with provisions within the design for an extra 10 potential floors.

Wow...
Please let the 40 level version be approved. This tower has the design merits to be our new tallest building.

Wow. Just looking at that thread title made me think of threads on skyscrapercity for the eastern states.
This is really the next step up though. We've seen that some well designed and tall apartments/hotels (Vue/Sofitel) are starting to proceed here, but can we get a new tallest out of it?
Would be a perfect height for our city at this stage if this one went up. A noticeable new tallest but not too tall that it ruins the density of the core. Fingers crossed.

If this, 123 Flinders, Sofitel, Eclipse and other proposals get built within the next 5 years.. Adelaide could have a damn good looking skyline by 2020.

As a side benefit BankSA will need to find around 5000 sqm of office space once they vacate this building. If they consolidated into a new building from their King William Street headquarters that would be a lot of office space required

I don't think there is many tenancies left in the building - just training rooms.Ben wrote:As a side benefit BankSA will need to find around 5000 sqm of office space once they vacate this building. I think'll you'll find that headquarters is also not overflowing with people.

Anyone know more about this? presumably another development site.Adelaide’s second-tallest building set for Pirie Street

...He also revealed that the company is in the process of making another major acquisition in the State....
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Acquisition could also mean an established hotel... time will tell. I don't think all of these hotels will go ahead though, hopefully they will and there will be more reasons for tourists to come to SA as well.Wayno wrote:Anyone know more about this? presumably another development site.Adelaide’s second-tallest building set for Pirie Street

I can't take these 100m+ proposals seriously anymore, I've seen so many on these forums and none of them have got off the ground yet. I'll believe it when I see a construction site and a crane.
But otherwise the design and the height look great to me. Hopefully this building gets up, it's time we got a new tallest here!

Doubt 123 Flinders will go ahead. It's been dead quiet for over 2 years now. We didn't even get a render of the 135m design. Isn't the developer Datong, and aren't they pre-occupied with U2 which has come to a grinding halt? That said, it could possibly get re-booted if buildings such as this one go up and the developers become more confident.crawf wrote:If this, 123 Flinders, Sofitel, Eclipse and other proposals get built within the next 5 years.. Anyone have the Photoshop talent to whip up a future skyline shot with all (or most of) the current proposals and UCs? Would love to see a skyline shot (even if it's just a pipe dream) containing this one, Vue, 115 KWS, Sofitel, Eclipse, the Angas Street apartments and the Wakefield one when it gets a render. Even the impact of shorter buildings like Bohem, U2, Palladium, Central Adelaide, New Mayfield, the Uni Buildings, Flinders St apartments and the Waymouth St hotel on Light Square would be interesting to see.
I'm not super confident this will go ahead. I'm seriously starting to wonder how much more demand there is for hotels, and apartments alone won't make this one as big. But let's wait and see. I would have given this proposal zero chance of going ahead a few years back.

Yes ma'am !!!
How good does the original facade look incorporated into the new building. The original proposal from years ago looks good to they can use that one somewhere else in Adelaide
I like this mixing of Class of buildings and more than one developer involved
Doesn't the SA based developer mention another large project on the horizon for Adelaide
