Under the tram plan, right-hand turns in both directions along King William St will be banned at peak times to improve traffic flow
Um... they already are.

They whined about the North Tce upgrade and the removal of trees there for pages and pages in the papers. Those critics were silenced.

I am actually very happy that those trees are getting removed. Those trees block the view of some of the most elegant and striking architecutre in the city, in particular the state parliament. It is beyond me why the most beautiful state parliament building is covered by foliage.

To me tress are a sinificant featrure of all of Adelaide, and especially the CBD. Adelaide retains something of the original colonial grandeur in both the tree and the buildings. However it is a knowmn fact that new ones can be planted and that semi nature ones can be planted. If we get all tied up in this nothing will happen.

We've got parklands full of trees. I think a few can be removed in the name of progress.

I wonder how much has been spent on studies, public consultations and reports by both sides of politics and the press, since this idea was floated, compared to the $30m construction cost.

Not sure

But if i see one more person write into the tiser, whinging and whining about the tram extension or voicing their opinions on what the money should be better spent - im going to shot myself

this applies to that dickhead martin hamilton-smith aswell

If people want to see Adelaide prosper and not become a dead-end place, they need to stfu with their pointless opinions!

end of rant :x

Why shouldnt others be allowed to express their opinions Crawf?
The same right that you have to express your opinions, is also shared with the rest of society.

Deal with it.

they are not pointless opinions. these people actually live in Adelaide, it may surprise you, so they are entitled to their own opinion.

and dont bag martin hamilton-smith, he solely organised the transport for U2. i know it was pretty dodgy and last minute, but the cool cats certainly werent gonna do anything.

Sorry for my outbust before, its been a pretty stressful day.

I shouldnt of said 'pointless opinions'. but im sick to death of people whinging and whining about the tram extention. It would different if people only complained about it for a week or so, but not year or w/e it has been.

Plus its only 1.7km long, $32m and will extend car travel time by 1min along North Terrace & KWS

Frankly crawf, if the removal of these trees and the installation of the tram line looks ugly then I don't want this to go ahead at all.

Yes what he did might of been good, but he is always complaining about something in the media.

Hmm, and did you feel the same about the Britanna project?
