Which tram needs that?
The turns on the northwest quadrant weren't needed as apparently this was the bit that was going to cost an extra $20m due to having to change the road and footpath gradients and some of the substructure works associated with Parliament House.

We need to exhume Sir William Goodman to get him to show them how it's done.

It would be cool if they added LED lighting or some special lighting features esp. near our main landmarks. I cant see them having the same opportunity like this for many, many years.

I wonder what new signals could be installed at this intersection...

With all the track being concreted in, would it be worth concreting the entire intersection? At least the surface would be consistant. Also looks like the right hand lanes will need to stop a fair way back from the intersection to avoid stopping on the tracks

They were starting to string up span wires on the intersection late this afternoon (Thusday).

Is this the stage of construction where the actual new tram stops are built?

Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

Is anyone else skeptical this will be complete before end of feb. The gov will have to throw lots of money and workers at this to have it finished before the election campaign.

I reckon it looks like it'll be done before the months end.
