City Beach should relocate to O'Connell St. They should be safe there for about 20 years.

But the residents may want to use them one day so they should be left alone just in case

City Holden is relocating to Mile End.

The Grenfell St site will be up for sale next month.

Even though this was probably one of Holdens flagship dealers, I'm not really surprised. Holden sales have been on the slide big time since
the end of the locally built Commodore. The last 2 full months they've only been the 9th best selling brand in Australia. The Claridge Holden
dealer on Unley Road is no more and the one on Port Road, Thebarton is no longer Holden branded. They're just the ones i've noticed while
driving around. This move from Grenfell Street is obviously a reflection of this trend.

Head office closed down/didn’t renew the other franchises .. heard they said there was only room for one dealership in Adelaide.

Not quite true, however some were asked to relocate and ugrade premises etc. There is still City Holden, Peter Kittle Holden, Hamilton Holden, Southgate Holden, Peter Page Holden and Steinboner Holden in Gawler. Plaza Holden lost theirs along with Claridge and Metro.

I would have loved the whole block it occupies to have been developed as an extension of Garden East. It had its detractors (especially in academia, I was practically taught it was a new urbanist nightmare as fact). But having been away then revisited with a fresh perspective, to me they got a hell of a lot of it right. What also surprised me was that my partner from Europe really took to it, despite all the criticism of it being "faux European". Of course, the economic reality is that the block has many owners and the opportunity isn't there to consolidate it all. Also that development next door effectively ruins the continuity. So it's a dream of mine shelved, and it's a pity because the building on the corner of grenfell and frome was a bloody good start (one of my favourite developments in Adelaide).

No I don't sorry....

There was an article in Saturdays Advertiser that I cant to find online.

The Mile End facility is going to be mainly service centre by the sounds of it, with a much downsized sales side.

I meant Adelaide as in the CBD/inner-city there was only room for only one Holden dealership...City Holden or Metro Holden.

They've set up a service centre in the old Le Cornu distribution centre on Railway Tce. Assuming they'll be moving there.
