God I hope the State Government continues with their original plan to electrify the Gawler line to Salisbury.

Can't see that happening any time soon ,considering the current financial mess the Government is in.

You guys do realise that only the Outer Harbor platform is facing the blank wall, which is of an adjacent factory. The Adelaide bound platform is in fact really close to the town centre, with Coles and townhouses about 100m opposite.Nathan wrote:At first I thought "great, a supermarket next to a station! We're learning!". But then I saw that second shot and saw all the wonderful blank walls facing the station. So rather than treating the station as the centre of the town, it's shoved off to the side and shunned as usual.
(and "station" is being generous, it's just a platform. I understand having platforms for most of the suburban stops, but surely these new areas where they're trying to create slightly denser communities and encourage public transport use should have proper stations.)

The Noarlunga trains are running, so why is the N4 bus service still operating in the daytime too?

I think they run them for the first few days as a backup. They also run on weekends while the track is closed.

Some finishing touches are still happening around the place on the Noarlunga Line. Lonsdale is getting new stairs from the platform to the overhead walkway, while the walkway is getting screens installed. The pedestrian crossing at the southern end of the Station has now been closed & fenced off.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Tom Koutsantonis turns on new electric Noarlunga train lines
ELECTRIC wires along the full length of the Noarlunga train line between the city and Seaford are now live and ahead passenger travel will start on the new service next month.
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Tom Koutsantonis today said the electrification project was entering its final stages and commuters could look forward to modern, efficient and quiet travel.
The Opposition has been heavily critical of the Government's management of the project and accused it of missing construction deadlines and bungling communication with commuters.
Mr Koutsantonis said commuters of the south had "been very patient with our once-in-a-generation infrastructure build that will revolutionise the way people travel".
"Whether it's the duplicated Southern Expressway or a brand new extended and electrified
train line, southern suburbs commuters have put up with construction works, congestion and
substitute services," he said today.
