Will Transit Link routes bypass the Bedford Park Bus Station because it doesn't look like there is any location south of the current stop to get onto to the Southern Expressway or will they have a stop in Flinders Medical Centre bus interchange or stop on the Flinders Drive extension.

The Transit Link stop will probably move to integrate with the new Flinders Station, which will allow the buses to go back onto the expressway.

Put this one into the 'maybe" pile, but the expressway may be renamed to Fleurieu Expressway on completion. This was shown in some renders on the site visit a week ago.

That would make sense...it would only involve one main interesection with ramps/one bridge needed to do that, right?

Not for a few decades at best. The current intersections at Seaford Road and the fork seem to be working sufficiently for now. It would be better to see South Road duplicated to Aldinga and Sellicks Beach before then.

I agree. However potentially the most expensive/difficult part to finish it off is still to come. I think Torrensville to Tonsley has been costed as $6billion+ over 2-3 projects. I assume that property resumptions form a big part of any potential cost. The only other unfinished part, Pym St to Regency Rd is only $360m.

Which intersecting roads experience the biggest delays at peak times? Anzac Highway and Cross Road (Emerson) already have partial grade separation, so major works on those are likely to be as precursors to bigger works in those areas.

I imagine that Daws Road-Castle Plaza area might be congested for South Road traffic to/from the city, but doing that section in isolation would just provide a nicer car park for the traffic lights at the end. It could reduce low-speed prangs between local and through traffic though.

River Torrens to Anzac Highway crosses most of the arterial roads to/from the western suburbs and the Airport. Perhaps grade-separating Henley Beach Road and Sir Donald Bradman Drive could be the focus of a new section, as those two intersections might be the busiest two for traffic crossing South Road. James Congdon Drive and Port Road provide a viable detour route for road closures while the heavy work is going on, too.

I feel like Pym to Regency is definitely next to be done. I won't be surprised if the State Government goes it alone financially in the next budget.

The state government recently made a submission to Infrastructure Australia for this project, so federal funds are more than likely to flow for this one if the business case stacks up.

The ten-year delivery strategy says that there would be short tunnels at Henley Beach Road, Sir Donald Bradman Drive and James Congdon Drive to minimise land acquisition, footprint and impact on heritage buildings.

Does anyone know if they will continue working on this (and Darlington) over the X-Mas/New Year holiday period and/or a 24/7 work site? I think this could be finished by Feb/March if they continue working. The main job of digging the tunnel/freeway looks almost done and then it’s just laying the bitumen, line marking, removing all the barriers etc
