A sincere thanks to all those who take the time to capture progress shots, and post them on this site. I don't get time to" get up close and personal " with all the developement going on at the moment and it is great to see it on here!

yeah I agree, thanks for the snaps. Its getting a bit exciting :P .

Hopefully might be able to get some free tickets through work for tomorrows bigbash strikers game. Although Im not a criket fan I may waltz on down to have a look

edit - Im surprised the eastern stand is so well advanced. I thought they were going to focus on the southern stand for next few months in the hope of it open before Novemeber 2013 cricket season, then get the eastern stand open before the 2014 football season.

Is that the end of the scoreboard structure in the first picture? If so it is much biggerthan I thought. Is there a bar under the 'verandah'?

Thanks for your help guys.

There's a food and drink outlet on the decking, but don't think they served booze from what I could see.

If anyone's in the area on a non-event day, it was wide open at the northern end... we just wandered in and had a look around. Fantastic to see it in person and pleased I got to have a look before we go back to the UK.

Should be all complete next visit!

Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

i'm thinking this will proceed much faster than schedule. Fixed price contract gives the builder incentive to work work work...
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Sure looks like it Wayno - looks like the Southern Stand will be complete by October/November thereabouts. Ashes is in January right?

Only just really starting to comprehend the magnitude of this project. Surely they will do the Northern Stand within a couple ogle years of this current redevelopment finishing.
