Looking good, has this topped out or is there more to go on?
Cause I thought this was going to be taller than the law courts...

Technically it is going to be higher than the Commonwelath Law Courts, but that is because the lift motor room will reach 55.5m. The geenral roof line of the building will probaably be the same height as the law courts.crawf wrote:Looking good, has this topped out or is there more to go on?

SA Water home with many views

WITH a view like this, you could imagine there being a few fights over offices . . .
The Advertiser was yesterday given an exclusive tour of VS1, the future SA Water city headquarters.
The building has hit a new milestone - having "topped out", with the roof level added to late last week.
Over the next few months, significant changes will take place in the development, with builders Hansen Yuncken working to complete both the roof and facade of the 10-storey project, overlooking Victoria Square.
Designs also are being finalised for the ground floor public foyer, which will include the customer service centre, an education centre, cafe and atrium.
Water Security Minister Karlene Maywald took the opportunity yesterday to take in the views from the building's top level.
"It is great to see the project progressing on time," she said.
"To have a presence in the city, with an education facility accessible to the public, I think is really important for SA Water going into the future."
While the majority of the building will be occupied by the government department, the top two floors are being leased to commercial tenants. Agreements are being negotiated through Jones Lang LaSalle. The building is expected to be completed in the latter half of 2008.

I haven't had a chance to take many pics lately. Here are a couple of real quick, drive-by shots from today. Unfortunately I didn't get a shot of the western glass which looks fairly good considering it is going to have another sheet of glass infront of it too.

Nice shots there! It certainly is going to change that part of the city.

Tried a few more photos today. The western glass looks good and considering there will be another wall of glass infront of it I'm impressed so far.

Law courts - Naah! Looks like some modular design in the 70's from a kids pen to me!
Glad to see Sa water however - starting to make real impression in Vic.Sq. Have not been back to Adelaide since Jan. this year - so a little out of touch with first hand developments - how many high rise buildings now face the square? Must be closing in - somewhat like Hindmarsh Sq.
BTW - Excellent photos AID and UrbanSG

The Commonwealth Law Courts are growing on me, and I think as the square gets surrounded by taller buildings, the law courts will look better and better. ATM they stick out a bit too much on their own.

I think if anything it will compliment the law courts... as theyre both really the only modern buildings in the area, the law courts won't stand out so much.
