complete lack of vision and forethought. he is completely out of touch with the Adelaide public.

And is treating us like morons. I think most of the educated public wouldn't be advocating a stadium needs to be built now. But why royally screw the one area that could be magnificently utilised in the future for an expanded world class sporting and/or entertainment precint. Build the hospital, just not there! Or if there is no suitable alternatives, LET US KNOW. This isn't one of those cases where red tape is going to hinder the process or become annoying, this is a huge issue in SA and we have the right to know.

There will be no stadium... no matter what happens.
The SANFL are committed to AAMI, the AFC and PAFC are committed to AAMI, so by associated the AFL are also committed to AAMI.
Without their support, a stadium will never happen.
It's over.

And f-ck off, Rann and Foley.
Their complete arrogance is beyond comprehension.

Put your money where your mouth is and call the election now.

I disagree with that aswell, this hospital isn't the only major issue in SA atm.

I think for the Liberals to run an election against a new hospital is a bad political move, regardless of whether they're right or wrong. The average punter on the street, faced with "should the government building a new hospital?" will always say yes.

I agree a new hospital is needed, but I believe it shouldn't be built on the railyards site. Anywhere but there, on the old RAH site even.

You have changed your tune a bit Howie...

The stadium is not going to happen for all the reasons that have been posted previously. I am with everyone else and would love for a new stadium but we have to be realistic here. Maybe if we had a budget surplus like that of WA we could think about a stadium - until then there are more pressing issues I would like the govt to spend on such as: our health system, road infrastructure, public transport system...

Why don't they just build the new hospital at 88 O'Connell St North Adelaide? I'm sure the old codgers who live around it would welcome it with open arms as it would be their second home

They will build this hospital now regardless. Too much political capital has been spent fro the govt to back down now.

A silly place and a silly name but that will be where the health $$$$$$$ go for some years from now.

True initially I was and still am very supportive of a new hospital. But having some time to suck it all in, I believe there's got to be a better location for it. I don't want to look back in 10 years and think, what have we done to the torrens river/ railyard site when it could be so much more.

Oh please don't say that  We should start a petition and protest the building of the Marj. Then they can run a story on our protests, and take a nice big colour photo of us standing infront of the site with our hands behind our backs and grumpy looks on our faces, headline reading "WE MUST BE HEARD". The NIMBYS do this all the time and they always seem to win. It's worth a shot

At my first state election, I am not going to vote labour. Rann is an A-Hole about this hospital.

'My research shows people want hospitals'.

Vote me for hospitals. FFS Rann'y, ofcourse people want hopsitals, but why the fark do you want to build it on probably the most prime land in the whole city?

Its just stupid, I've had enough of this jerk off. I don't care how far he has taken us, I don't want to see his ugly face on TV ever again.

Ok from what they said on ten news the site is badly contaminated, why the hell would anyone build a hospital there... might as well build a new multi-billion dollar medical facility on the ruins of Chernobyl then.

the location can stay as railyards until something can be built there, as for the hospital, here's just a few other places it can go: the current RAH site, West Park lands maybe over the cemetery (IMO very symbolic, bringing the city back to life), South Parklands, East Parklands, North Adelaide Parklands, Clipsal Site or Keswick...

but i hate how Rann even admited that, vote for Labour and you'll get a hospital, vote for the Liberal and you'll get a stadium (wtf is that for a government anyway).

Victoria Park... Great Location!...Lots of chance of Expandability.(Would be a Problem during Clipsal) But considering the way the worlds going with Petrol prices and technology. I doubt clipsal will still be around in its current form .. upon the hospitals Completion.. Its better then it turning into a great Yellow Hole.

The design looks great to me
But I just got a question: Why not extend the tram line to the hospital's front door?
I think it will be more convenient for the old people. The tram line have to go there anyway, doesnt matter it is a west loop or onto the port road.

In actual fact, I'm a Federation Square supporter :wank:
