Jaymz - any idea what the hold up is? I am assuming there is still ongoing crap from the collapse of tagara?

Picture taken today 29 Dec 15. Note all building sites are closed until about 18 JAN for Summer holidays.

Now that the scaffolding is coming off, from the view EBG posted, this one reminds me of a fatter version of the Quest on KWS South.

I really have no definite answer for you, but that would be my best guess. As the Tagara guys are shareholders in Sturt Land,Dvious wrote:Jaymz - any idea what the hold up is? I am assuming there is still ongoing crap from the collapse of tagara?
i'd say things might be getting messy behind the scenes. They would be needing to find a buyer for that share, as reported in
the paper a few months ago.

I live across the road mate... And when I say there was people on site, I'm talking 3 in total. There were 2 guys in high-viz gear in the top floor apartment (where the scaffolding has been removed) on Monday 28th for a couple of hours.ghs wrote:Mate, from what I ve seen all of the construction sites in the city are closed down including
Vision on Morphett.

Nice photo pal... But you do realise that most of the work is being done internally at this stage, and your photo is of the outside. Honestly - what would motivate me to come on here and post a lie about people being onsite?EBG wrote:Picture taken today 29 Dec 15. You saw 3 people on site. That hardly constitutes internal work happening.Smithy85 wrote:Nice photo pal... Did you see those 3 people actually doing internal work to the building?
Or did you just see 3 people walking/standing around with high vis vests on.
Wearing a high vis vest does not mean you are a tradie. High vis vests are a WHS requirement as part of PPE, as are safety boots/shoes(ie steel caps).
It doesn't matter if you are a tradie or someone whose come down from the office, you have to wear this stuff when you are on site.
End of the day though does it really matter?
[COM] Re: 176-186 Morphett Street | 59m | 18lvls | Residential
I was not implying that people were not working (inside or outside) , just that it is not usual at this time. However now is the ideal time to work on tasks where one does not want to be interrupted by other trades ie to do floor tiling or internal painting without others making dust.

Well in fairness the scaffolding on the western side seems to be coming down fairly quickly (shame about the other half of the building though). Surely the internal fit out on this building has been proceeding while they stuff around with the exterior though...
[COM] Re: 176-186 Morphett Street | 59m | 18lvls | Residential
This building is hardly going to be much of a looker anyway.

Some lunch time pictures (14 Jan) of the Morphett St (Western) side of both upper and lower levels. The copper /Gold Alucobond panelling makes all the difference at the lower levels. Note a mobile crane was being used to remove scaffolding.

Scaffolding on western side coming down. There are some Gold/copper Alucobond panels at the top on the northwest corner.

Well, anyone who was hopeful of this looking half decent can forget about that, it looks absolutely hideous.
