[COM] Re: Uniting Communities | 68m | 19 Levels | Mixed Use
The carpark is ugly but at this stage unless someone is willing to put the big bucks forward to make something of the site, I'd be incline to suggest they simply re-activate its retail component where Radio Rentals were, that alone would drastically improve the appearance. I'd rather see something come of the gravel area on the opposite side of the street which I believe Samaras owns.

There is currently a law firm in the ground floor.Patrick_27 wrote:The carpark is ugly but at this stage unless someone is willing to put the big bucks forward to make something of the site, I'd be incline to suggest they simply re-activate its retail component where Radio Rentals were, that alone would drastically improve the appearance. The core on this must be either topped out or very close to it by now.

It’s worth remembering that there’s a stage two to this development that is taller than this. Exciting times.

Really? What site will it potentially be on?
I haven't heard that before... this is exciting, given the second stage is of the same quality. If it involves knocking down that god awful carpark next door, almost anything will be better.

Exciting of course...Is this Adelaide's next laneway hotspot?

There could be yet more intrigue for the site, with a stage-two development mooted for further up Pitt Street, where Uniting Communities’ current offices now sit.

The agency essentially owns the block, and has grand – albeit as yet undetailed – plans to turn the remaining half of the site into a mixed-use housing development, “with a fair emphasis on social and affordable housing”.
“Our thinking is it could go up to 24 or 25 storeys, potentially,” Schrapel said.
“We’ve designed this stage with a view to allowing that, so it’s not one big block.”

That glass is shaping up to look really good.

I think this is my favourite going up at the moment. The finishing is a lot better than I anticipated.
