Latest at Marion is:

M.A.C is going where Sintra closed

Peter Alexander is Going in where Kookaii used to be, Kookai are relocating.

Wait for it.... Supre is opening a megastore in the old Colorado.... Just what this world needs...

Still a fair few empty stores around with no signage up yet. You would think they would want them leased and filled by Christmas.

Anyone have any idea why Toys R Us aren't at Marion?
They are the only big retailer who aren't represented.
The ex Cheap as Chips store (now Cotton on Clothing) would have been an ideal size for them.
Marion lacks a decent toy store in my view.

Toys R Us have got their megastore in Rundle Mall so I doubt they want another one. Besides, toy stores aren't very big anymore, theres been a few at marion in recent years and they've all closed down quickly. A lot of people just buy that kind of thing off of the internet nowadays because of the price.

There is a Toys R Us at Gepps X & Tea Tree Plus.
The one at Tea Tree Plus seems a bit out-of-date.

There's also a biggish Toyworld down at Harbour Town.
After years of closing down stores they seem to be back in a growth phase.

Australia's first M.A.C. concept store has now opened. Today the refurbished David Jones opened on the ground floor. Looks amazing. Similar to the one at Chadstone, lots more brands. I'm looking forward to the next stage (menswear).

Refurbished Swarovski is now open. Peter Alexander opened last week. Kikki K and Kookai are due to open soon.

JB is still there but Millers closed a few months back and now there is Events, Blue illusion, Flower, Mimco, Oroton, Wittner, Witchery and Witchery Man along there as well as the "Westfield Style Lounge".

Restaurant serves up jobs

Local News7 Nov 11 @ 09:51am by Kane McKay

International restaurant chain TGI Friday's will open at Westfield Marion this month.

MORE than 70 jobs will be created when TGI Friday’s opens at Westfield Marion this month.

The international chain, which has 1000 restaurants worldwide, will open its first Australian location outside of Victoria in the former Charlton’s Pool Hall.

TGI Friday’s director of operations, Amaresh Devanesen, said the company held a recruitment day at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre in August, with 200 people interviewed.

“We have hired all local Adelaide talent,” Mr Devanesen said.

“We have hired 20 kitchen staff and 50 front-of-house staff, as well as a management team of four.”

Mr Devanesen said the restaurant was expected to open mid this month.

Founded in New York in 1965, TGI Friday’s is credited with inventing the happy hour and famed Long Island Iced Tea cocktail.

The Marion restaurant will be the sixth in Australia.
