You would also find that a small string of them would take you from street to street, shopping centre to malls, etc. This sort of thing situated near Rundle Mall, and amongst the business district that is the city's North-Eastern Corner, would work very well.

Most of Adelaide's CBD has always excelled at this. I'm surprised you haven't noticed it.

I agree. I must say that it was all so very confusing. Coming back to the simplicity of Rundle Mall, has made me realise just how great the Mall is.

Just heard on the phone from someone in retail that Harris Scarf is relocating it's head office in Melbourne. I am absolutely ignorant on anything to do with HS - can anyone shed some light on this - does not quite add up in the context of the new bldg. IMO.

Who cares. Most head offices are in either sydney or melbourne even if you think they are SA comapnies..... it is just pure economics.

Just looking around the Harris Scarfe website and it says:
"Please contact Harris Scarfe Head Office on (08) 8150 5888"

I gather therefore from the phone number that their head office is currently in Rundle Mall. I will be reasonably unimpressed if they do decide to relocate to Melbourne.... Still, it may just be temporary during the Adelaide redevelopment or it could just be rumor from retail employees worried about what impact the redevelopment will have on their jobs.

Either way I'll reserve judgement until they complete the office tower. If they successfully pull off a nice redevelopment of the whole area then I'll be quite happy.

I dont know where to post this, but what is happening with that retail development on the 2nd level of Regent Arcade, Rundle Mall end. Nothing has been going on there for months and months. Anyone know why its stalled?

It's finished for now. They finally completed the work on the lift and that seems to be open now. But they've yet to find a tenant or tenants for the upper level. So that's just a blank canvas for who ever wants to shop fit the area. The only fittings being the refurbished cornices etcetera from the old cinema interior, the escalators, the railings that surround the void and the interesting light fittings.

Yeah i heard that too.. Be curious to see what the new owners do if demolition/construction starts soon, if they'll set up shop elsewhere or pull out of the CBD.

I know West Lakes and TTP have shut down.

Well you posted it in the right place, because I know for a fact Harris Scarfe are looking at putting a temporary store in there (and probably another elsewhere too in the CBD) while they redevelop
