From Saturday:

Lots of action on site. Already been a core rise since I took this photo and is moving quite fast now.

An office with a view?

Great photos Ben, thanks for posting them!

This just emphasizes the great and privileged view that the residents of this building will have.

The camera angle is probably playing a few tricks on my eyes, but the twin-cores don't appear to leave all that much space around them!

I think your eyes are playing tricks. There is a fare bit of room. Just look at the semi-trailer on the left to compare the space around the cores.

I actually had similar thought when I saw the site. That the floor plates for the offices ect will be tiny.

I have connections that can get me up there at any time ;)

James Hines just sent me these floorplans to give us an idea of how the commercial floor plate works.
The middle jump form is picking up the two residential elevators and the two fire stairs. If you look at the photo posted on S-A there is an outline about a metre in from the edge of the jump form which is the actual size, if that makes any sense.
Thanks again James.

See, when you ask owners/developers, architects/designers and building suppliers nicely, they'll jump to help.

Cheers

Geeez it looks like there is a heap of activity down there. I just hope this building does not take ages to get up and running. Good to see though. Hindmarsh square will look quite nice in a couple of years time

Since Conservatory's underground car parks under the western slip road of Hindmarsh Square have been eliminated from the plan, it could be a wise idea for the ACC to close most of this road (if not all) and build an underground car park to replace the current on-street ones. Access ramps would be at Grenfell and Pirie Street ends. The same could be done on the eastern side. Just an idea.

Cheers

Very good idea! Also adds to pedestrian friendliness of the area - great in a place like HSQ.
