Reminds me of Alpha Apartments, another but ugly building.
Why does council approve these monstrosities, and great designs like that curved facade building proposed for North Tce see opposition for their unique features which would make them stand out in a good way?

If there won't be any exposed steel beams just glass, it may not be too bad. From recollection it should be the only all glass facade highrise in the CBD. If true that's a first.
I think Lot 8 would have looked better if the white beams were painted the same colour as the glass (a blue tint) or maybe even grey. But all round Samaras should have spent more on the finish of this building.

There is currently public notification to turn the top floor into a penthouse. Looks like it is on the roof level? Can someone confirm? I'm not good at interpreting plans.

Yep, it's on the roof level.
I think this is a good addition to the building, as it will add extra detail to its otherwise plain roof line.

I saw this at lunchtime today from Victoria Square. It's going to change the look of the southern end of the square, that's for sure. In a good way, I think.

Some more views from a Lot 8 apartment courtesy of realestate.com.au. It appears the dwelling (apartment) atop this building (approved after the building was under construction) is currently under construction itself with the roof structure currently being assembled.

Thanks for the great photos Will. Really interesting and well balanced. Am in Syracuse NY and snowing outside. Not a lot of construction here - the recession is very real in the US and the national and State debt levels are really high. We seem to be pretty immune from a lot of it in SA and our construction is starting to move again as we enter 2010. Thanks again for the photos.

You know you're less than an hour's drive to Mexico from there?
