So who are they aiming this at? I didn't think this was student apartments. I guess maybe chinese immigrants?UrbanSG wrote:Further to the sales office opening I came across this recent job advertisement on Seek which I believe closed on 30 March.

I would say they are aiming this development primarily at Chinese investors. Fly them over show them around get them to spend up.
This has been occuring interstate recently particualrly in Queensland in the distressed Gold Coast apartment market where the Chinese have snapped up a lot of real estate over the past year or so.

International investors, no doubt... but as for the actual residents... my bet is that they'll appoint someone like Oakes as building managers and try and get the investors to allow them to manage short term leases in the apartments.Ben wrote: So who are they aiming this at? I live in Altitude and i can tell you that of the ~200 apartments in the precinct complex, about 140 of them are serviced apartments managed by Oakes (lol, they dont tell you you're essentially moving into a hotel). It makes life difficult as a permanent resident, but i digress lol.
This development looks nice. It really is a shabby looking building there - and i think serves primarily as the carpark for "World Gym" which is located around the corner on light square.
If the rest of the balfours/bus stop precinct ever goes ahead, it would be quite the little patch of density around these few blocks.

Great injection of people to the area... TERRIBLE looking building. It is such a shame that this is the best we can expect from developers.
More UniSA commissioned buildings please.

looks a little like the conservatory on hindmarsh sq. agree that it could be better, but it could be a lot worse.. like the one across the road from it (Altitude/Gallery)cruel_world00 wrote:TERRIBLE looking building. It is such a shame that this is the best we can expect from developers.

I felt a slight tingle in my pants, but could be because someone turned the central heating off.
And yeh reminds me of Conservatory, but then again reminds me a little of Embassy.

Does anyone else find it odd that they are using hotmail ?
Surely they have a web site with email accounts?

I like it. The yellow colour scheme will go well with the rest of the Precinct.

I wish the façade treatment was a little more sophisticated than painted concrete, but I'm still more than happy to see this move ahead. The area needs it.

It's exactly the sort of building encouraged by the current development guidelines/codes/restrictions - not that tall, not that interesting, square-shaped, homogenous apartments. Inoffensive. Good for the area, I suppose.

A Registration of Interest for building tenders for this project is in the building tenders section of today's paper. It has been issued by Connor Holmes on behalf of the developer.
