I thought SA police were looking for 20000sqm, and someone else was looking for 20000 as well (transport SA I think but not sure). I assumed that SAPOL would take either this building or the twin towers and the other tenant looking for 20000 was gonna take the other. The problem is that SAPOL lease expires in Feb 2008, which only leaves a year and a bit for them to find a new premises. This means if they dont sign a new lease to move to either this building or the twin towers very soon they may extend their lease at their current location, meaning one of these may not be built
, as I would assume that it would take over 1 year to complete either ot these two buildings.

SAPOL have extended their lease until 2010 but both of the above buildings are unlikely to be finished before then anyway so I think it's not all bad.

Aesthetically a great lokking building. I love the sleek glass look. A pity it does not have cantilever covers for pedestrians.
I have a copy of the Adelaide City Plan fron 1975 where it speaks of developing a 'spine' of buildings along KWS. Sth. - only just catching on to their own vision 30 years on! Good company for the Optus building (I think! - Haven't lived in Adelaide for 20 years to be absolutely sure).
Adelaide is really "coming of age" as they say.

It does have a cantilevered cover for pedestrians, just hard to see on the perspective.

I agree. It looks great. I love all the glass and what looks like polished granite on the podium. One question though, is this building too bulky? Wouldn't two (taller) towers look better, or would they be too prominent in some other way?
Also, only 3 lifts? One every 20 metres or so...mmmh.
Cheers
It has 6 lifts, not 3

But Spire is residential, this is offices. If you've ever played SimTower, you'd understand.

Who is the tennant? I find this very hard to believe. They would not start construction without a major tenant, and im pretty sure they havent found one yet. However, i could be mistaken, and in that case i certainly hope your right.

I am really excited by this project and I hope that it goes ahead. Is going to be one of Adelaide's better developments.

That under constructon sign has been up for years! It relates to the car park/office building next door. No construction or activity on this site at the moment.

Yes, that is the story I got from a workmate who walks past the site twice a day.

Saw signage up on site for this development. Anyone know dates for construction or any other news on this development.

Is there an actual new sign ?
because a lot of people have been mistaken by the sign that currently sits there, which is not for this development but for the carpark behind it.
