Just got an e-mail about this project, no fancy name, imagery or other information yet but they have started marketing it.

Signage and fencing is up on site. Looks like it could be going by one of two names. http://www.oneadelaide.com.au is the website but a lot of references to "East Flinders" too.

"Flinders East" seems to be their name for the whole block, so including ART and ZEN 1,2. Just curious whether "ONE at Flinders East" includes both proposed towers or whether they split it like Zen ?

I think it will be separate. I revived the marketing pack today and only had the first tower shown. I intend on going to the showroom next week which is open by appointment only at this stage.

Yes, this appears to be the case.

This is now advertised on realestate.com, and only the smaller tower is being marketed at this stage.

Hi Guys! I'm new to this forum.

I too love this development. But like so many new apartment builds here in Adelaide the floor plans lack livability. By that i mean so many apartments have been designed with bedrooms with NO external window. Only windows facing into the apartment. Now before you all freak out just answer this question. Would you buy a 3 bedroom house with one of the bedroom lacking an outside window? No way! No one would. And that is the problem here in OZ, we still think of apartment living as a substandard way of living. A residence for a short time and for investors. This has to change. I know there are architectual restraints. But i bet you none of these architects actually live in an apartment or ever have. I'm from Adelaide but sent 22 years living overseas in apartments. And of all the apartments that I've visited, rented or owned, NONE had bedrooms without an outside window. None!!!!
I would just mention that I love apartment living and am looking for one here in Adelaide.
Here are the floor plans for Tower 1, Tower 2 will mainly be serviced apartments.

Of the 9 bedrooms, 4 have no external windows. Why design this? I sure no architect would put his/her kid in a bedroom without an external window. Who would want to live like that?
Sorry for ranting but no-one seems to be taking up this point. I'm all for apartment living. And this one is beautiful except that Tower 2 will block all the views to the hills.
Anyway, feel free to comment.

Thanks for that info. I agree with you and I would never buy an apartment with bedrooms with no windows. This is poor design. Maybe have a look at Kodo. I just bought one in there and all the bedrooms have windows as far as I know.

Are you sure? The only room that looks like it might not be abutting an external wall is in Type A1, and that's assuming that the 'common sky park' doesn't act as a light well.

You can tell by the thin glass internal wall. TYPE D1, C2, B1 and A1

I'm going to guess that the thin lines indicate floor to ceiling glass, rather than all windows. It's pretty obvious that the. bedroom in B1 for instance has a light well running to the bottom right corner.

You might be right about B1, but the other 3 all have no external window, just floor to ceiling glass facing inwards. How can that be private and classified as a bedroom? Can only really be sold as a study

It might just be a poor illustration - if it bothers you so much why don't you just ring up the developer and complain.

Are you one of these "sustainable population party" sheep?

Listen;
1) I'm no sheep!
2) I was sent that illustration from the developer. Maybe you need to learn how to read a floor plan.
3) I'm just stating that some architects design apartments purely from a design point of view and while disregarding livability. There is no way that they would design a house in that manner. ( A bedroom with no external window but a floor to ceiling glass wall facing the kitchen / living room. Hmmm, very private.)
4) As I stated, I've lived in apartments and know what works.
5) I didn't post anything to start a childish war of words. There is no need for comments like ' Are you one of these "sustainable population party" sheep?' Really?
