I actually think its just a photoshopped image for now. It is literally identical to the apartment block just off of Hutt St, which is terrible to say the least.

Thanks Ben. Any idea on whether that is a height increase from the original 28 levels, or does that just take in to account skipping floor numbers?

It's a bit monolithic. I wish they would step back at the heigher levels, or differentiate one tower from the other.

Comparing the original render to today's render it would appear a few extra floors have been added.noted wrote:Thanks Ben. Any idea on whether that is a height increase from the original 28 levels, or does that just take in to account skipping floor numbers?

I'm just amazed that after going through the process of redesigning and rendering the project that they managed to get the exact same car driving past in the shot.

I like the podium(?) in the first design.
They've also eliminated those 3 awnings? on the southern corner at the top. The tower portion looks better imo, the podium ehh

Agreed, love the lower podium in the first picture and love the more squared tower in the second. Here's hoping they bump together the designs.rev wrote:I like the podium(?) in the first design.

More than a few extra floors, I'm going to take a wild guess and say that if this was originally proposed at 90m then it's shot up to at-least 120-130m. The podium is a tiny bit taller, there are ten balcony crests in the first image and fourteen in the second, and there appears to be much more to the building before and after the balcony crests start and finish in the second image.

Never even noticed, but in both before and after renders the towers aren't actually mirror opposites of one another.
I'm not convinced it's any taller now. but it appears the roof maybe doesn't taper as much and makes it look taller.
btw stop being a bunch of pussies. I'm counting every horizontal line on that facade as a floor and gunning for at least 60 levels fqn

Not sure about this one now - didn't mind the original render but whilst the extra height is a bonus in the second one, now they've squared it off it just looks like one bulky featureless lump. A bit like a glass version of those big square 60s tower blocks they are currently demolishing in Glasgow, Scotland:
Hopefully it'll be nicer in the flesh...

This CANNOT be allowed if it's like the latest image. Quite possibly the worst render one could come up with for something in 2016 times. Original please, that was pretty neat.
