Why???? Is there money problems or not council approved? Seriously, why do all of the good developments in Adelaide have to be cancelled!

This has been approved if you read the forum title.
If a building cant presell a certain amount of floors in the given timeframe allowed well then, unless your willing to help pay, they cant go ahead with the building, they sold 6 floors in a matter or atleast 2 or so years IIRC, so going by those judgements, this ones most probably dead.

Casualty of the recent news about ODX?. Either way it's not that big of a loss for KWS.
I would rather the developers buy the neighbouring hideous mess and proposal a much wider and taller building, with lots of glass.

No big loss. I always hated this proposal.
All future developments on King William Street should stick to the 40m height limit (or thereabouts) in line with the other historic buildings on the street.

Thankfully that ridiculous impediment to KW Street building heights was removed in the recent review.[Shuz] wrote:No big loss. I always hated this proposal.

I really liked that bldg - it significantly broke through the 18 floor ceiling that seemed rock solid for ever in KWS and gave a true high rise look. What better place than KWS to have such a bldg??

Website no longer available, safe to say this one is dead.

This is a dissapointing outcome, considering that the real-estate analysts keep telling us that most action in the Adelaide commercial market is in the under 1000sqm2 range. Hence, I would have thought there would have been more interest in this building.
I am also dissapointed in that it would have been a welcome change from the usual fat and stumpy buildings which adorn our skyline.
On a side note, I recall that 9 floors were sold. What happens to those that have purchased a floor when such a development collapses? Do such people get their money back?

Shame, I quite liked this for being a bit different.

You would think so. I guess the money is held in trust and then returned (possibly minus a fee). Those in the real estate game would know. Will wrote:[...]

I doubt anyone would have yet paid a whole amount for a floor, at most it would be a deposit.Ho Really wrote:You would think so. I guess the money is held in trust and then returned (possibly minus a fee). Those in the real estate game would know. Will wrote:[...]

Perhaps, but look where it was situated. A small allotment shoehorned between other small properties.Nort wrote:Shame, I quite liked this for being a bit different.

I hope it's gone. It's a bloody tacky, ugly design.
