Is the cladding to the screen surrounds/glass for the dining room on the south stand black? Or a really dark brown?

That's just covering the copper plates isn't it?

Good, really can't wait to see that bit complete.
It really is looking spectacular. Looking forward to seeing it in person to properly appreciate its scale - looks enormous in pics from across the Torrens.

I could be wrong but I think it's got to do with the work being done for the media center or coaches boxes or whatever was going on at the front of it.
Might even be as you say weatherproofing.
6 of one 1/2 a dozen of the other...media centre will be at top of the western stand (sadly some there will be less seats in my favourite area for viewing cricket but oh well) will double as weatherproofing for the centre section. Goes with weatherproofing on the northern and southern wings of the stand as well.
Coaches boxes are on the bottom level, one each side of the centre section. Relatively easy access to the bottom of the stand from there. From what I know of the inside of the stand the walkway along there goes to some stairs inside that goes up a little bit to the cricket umpires' room or down to the changerooms and players races.

I was pleased to see they're going smart with the player's bench area in this redevelopment. Like Skoda and Metricon. No "restricted view" seats behind the bench. I know it means a few seats are lost in cricket season but this will also provide a spot where the 12th man or whoever can move around without obstructing someone's view. Looks so much better than the "lets put a roof over the front 2 rows of seats in these bays" approach.

I think we're starting to get a sense of why this stadium is costing us $535m. It's a gold (copper) plated stadium
And I must say it looks amazing!

Incredible. Big thanks to those posting these pictures.. as i dont have a chance to see this in person atm (live in Sydey) its always very exciting to see the changes taking place. Imagaine how this facade is going to look during one of Adelaide's beuatiful summer sunsets.. will be a shining (no pun intended) example of Adelaide's beautiful character and charm which truely does make it unique City. I'd imagine our interstate and international visitors are going to find the architecture stunning against the backdrop of parklands and shining lights of the city in the distance. Getting pumped!!

As someone had said earlier that this is running behind schedule, I've heard from two different people/companies involved, that it is running a little bit behind schedule, and that's from two different perspectives(construction & other).

Are you sure??
Everything I have heard indicates that this project is substantially ahead of schedule. I'm sure I read an article stating that the workers are putting in extra shifts to compensate for Adelaide's recent big wet. There's been no hint of schedule slippage in that most positive of Adelaide voices; the 'tiser. I have my SACA membership renewal notice in front of me and it says"
In November 2013 we will launch the Southern Grandstand - the first of two new grandstands being built as part of the $535 million redevelopment of Adelaide Oval. During International matches, this means there will be approximately 8,000 extra seats for SACA members behind the Bowler's arm, with more than 90% of them in the shade. There will be new bars and the City View Dining Room all complimenting the Western Grandstand and the world-renowned Villiage Green - both exclusive to SACA Members.
November is before December so ahead of schedule as far as I can tell.

Oh I believe it will be finished in time for the cricket.
Without saying too much because the people that I've spoken to aren't on here posting personally and I don't want to put anyone in the shit, one aspect of the behind schedule stuff is with the SMA which I was told by someone working with them, the other is with I assume construction, as the person who told me works for a firm providing materials/components.
On both occasions October was mentioned.
It might be out of date info though, since as you say they are putting in extra hours which I didn't know about till you posted.

I am sure our negative newspaper would be right onto it if their is any bad new, they are just not as good of promoting the positive.
