I saw this from high up and at a distance today and the copper façade on the southern aspect already looks amazing, especially with sun shining. Can't wait to see it once fully installed.

Good to see they finally released the dimensions for the new playing surface - 124m x 167m. Narrower but longer than AAMI at 133 x 165.

Nah, I reckon an elevated shot from the other side, with a view into the oval it self, and the CBD as a background will be a better postcard shot.

Is that truly symmetrical? Previously it was more of a D shape. Even after the Western Grandstand was constructed...

Still no announcement on the missing venue for the Australia - India 4 test series in 2014-15. Vic, NSW, WA and ??? The announcement was due several days ago. Surely Adelaide Oval will get the gig over the Gabba?

I heard the much repeated rumour on Triple M that AO will miss out. Minister, Tom Koutsantonis was vocal in his defence of Adelaide Oval as deserving of a test match. A snub of our magnificent cricket venue by Cricket Australia would be a huge insult and a real loss for cricket fans.

SACA must be working furiously behind the scenes to secure this test but who knows what other influences are at play? AO would attract much higher crowds than the Gabba (which is often subject to rain delays) and the Indians are stated to have a preference for AO. It was mentioned that Cricket Australia seem to favour/reward those that invest less in cricket over those who have invested a lot.

Interestingly, a Triple M listener and current SACA member alluded to the fact that membership renewals are due and some might be waiting to hear the announcement and other decisions being made by Cricket Australia before renewing. Hmmm??

Adelaide has the third highest attendance of any Test Match in Australia, without the benefit of a public holiday or Summer school holidays. Per capita we're the best Test match city in Oz. If the 'gabba gets the nod over Adelaide Oval despite the investment shown by the State govt, then there is something else in play that we're not privvy to:(

Whilst I'd like to see this test in Adelaide, playing at AO over the Gabba is no less of an insult to residents of Brisbane. It'll be a great ground, but we shouldn't get arrogant in our excitement. If they toss Adelaide out of the mix, that's the organisers loss; not ours.

Its got nothing to do with arrogance. History shows Adelaideans support Test Cricket in good/great numbers. If CA snub Adelaide for Brisbane it will be a massive FU from CA to Adelaide Cricket fans.

Finally, The Summer is the wet season in the tropics. Days of play are regularly lost in games played at the gabba. I cant remember the last time a whole day's play was lost in ADL due to rain.
