The "revised height" statement concerns me. I suspect this one will re reduced into yet another 15-18 storey box. Yawn.

I thought the only reason this one was "tall" was because the footprint was so tiny. Will wrote:The "revised height" statement concerns me. I suspect this one will re reduced into yet another 15-18 storey box. Yawn.

Maybe not by world standards, but at 86m, it would have been in our top 10, whereas at 15-18 levels it will probably be around the 60m mark, making it fade into the background.monotonehell wrote:I thought the only reason this one was "tall" was because the footprint was so tiny. Will wrote:The "revised height" statement concerns me. Will, last time I was in Adelaide I paid a little visit to the ACC in Pirie St and had a talk to one of their chiefs (in his office) about the new bldg heights. He said 'if he had his way nothing would be over 6 floors' .I walked out thinking what century he was in. Your concern is not unfounded. Will wrote:The "revised height" statement concerns me. To be fair, almost all the reductions in height in the last few years have been about not finding pre-commitments for leases, which as the market dictates, necessitated a reduction in leasable area.skyliner wrote:Will, last time I was in Adelaide I paid a little visit to the ACC in Pirie St and had a talk to one of their chiefs (in his office) about the new bldg heights. 8 years to start such a small building project is not my idea of "fast"HiTouch wrote:This one's starting fast!! Scaffolding going up now

I walked past the site yesterday, and there was no scaffolding. Are you sure you are referring to this site?HiTouch wrote:This one's starting fast!! Scaffolding going up now

sorry, I thought scaffolding meant fencing. I just googled what scaffolding actually meant. There is a fence there. Not scaffolding though.

In promising news for this development, for the second week in a row this has appeared in the tenders listed in the Business Journal in the Tiser. Built Environs are asking for quotes to be lodged by 25 July 2014. Last week it was Synergy Construct requesting quotes.
All very promising that this is pushing ahead!

If even 2 or 3 of the more likely 80m + proposals eventually go ahead, it will have quite an impact on a skyline as small as Adelaide's. Hope it happens.

Excellent news to see this resurrected so to speak - fabulous impact on KWS - finally breaking the 18 floor syndrome in that area.
